Love Under The Moon

Chapter 22: Balance

I was in the passenger seat of Derek's car as he drove to the school.

Isaac was arrested as a suspect in his dads murder and tonight was a full moon.

"Get in," Derek said to Scott who was on the school steps.

"Are you serious? You did that. That's your fault," Scott said.

"I know that. Now get in the car and help me."

"No, I've got a better idea. I'm gonna call a lawyer. Because a lawyer might actually have a chance at getting him out before the moon goes up."

"Not when they do a real search of the house."

"What do you mean?"

"Whatever Jackson said to the cops, what's in the house is worse. A lot worse."

I looked down and then back at Scott.

"Scott please," I said.

Scott sighed and got in the car and Derek drove us to Isaac's house.

"If Isaac didn't kill his father, who did?" Scott asked as we used flashlights to navigate through the dark house.

"I don't know yet," Derek answered, opening a door into the basement.

"Then how do you know he's telling the truth?"

"Because I trust my senses. And it's a combination of them. Not just your sense of smell."

"You saw the lacrosse thing today?"

"Yeah."

"Did it look that bad?"

"Yeah."

"Also we know because I was with Isaac at the time of the murder," I said.

"Then why aren't you saying anything?!"

"Because saying, "oh yes I was with Isaac in a dark alleyway because he ran away!" Not a good alibi cause what were we doing in the same dark alley way as his father? Hmmm?"

"Okay, I get it."

"Good," I said crossing my arms.

"You wanna learn?" Derek asked. "Let's start now."

"What's down there?"

"Motive."

"And what am I looking for?"

"Follow your senses."

We watched as Scott went down and looked around.
We were next to him and he jumped. "What happened down here?"

"The kind of thing that leaves an impression. Open it."

Scott opened the metal freezer and saw scratches marks all over it.

I covered my mouth and stepped behind Derek, my hand resting on his back.

"This is why he said yes to you," Scott stated.

"Everyone wants power."

"If we help you, then you have to stop. You can't just go around turning people into werewolves."

"I can if they're willing."

"Did you tell Isaac about the Argents? About being hunted?"

"Yes, and he still asked."

"Then he's an idiot."

"And you're the idiot dating Argent's daughter. Yeah. I know you're little secret. And if I know, how long do you think it's gonna take for them to find out? You saw what happens to an omega. With me, you learn how to use all of your senses. With me, you learn control. Even on a full moon."
