In Day 6 we talked about the Great Commission. We came to realize that every Christian is a missionary- not just the ones called overseas. So now you know that you are a missionary, but how are you going to start your mission?
It all starts with a very simple statement that you've probably heard more than 100 times in your lifespan: you're talking the talk, but are you walking the walk? This is where our mission statement begins! If you walk up to someone and say, "Hi, my name is Aly and I'm a Christian!" and then you go cuss out an old man, firstly, everyone would think you were a fraud, and secondly, no one would want to be a Christian because of your example.
This is why it is so important to watch our words and actions constantly. Because they are our mission statement. They reflect what it is we believe. If someone sees us showing grace and mercy and kindness to someone else, they would be impressed with our testimony.
One of my top favorite verses is:
John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
Love is so key to everything! If you love everyone you come across, all of those people you meet will walk away knowing that something is different about you. Love openly, love freely, love often. I mentioned this in a previous day, but again, it is so important!
So that's the challenge for today! Watch your actions and words. Make sure you are walkin' the walk that you talked.
God Bless!
