Chapter 3
I fumbled for my key in my pocket.
“Shit!” I whispered to myself.
I pulled out my phone and dialed Riley’s number. Ringggggg Ringggggg
“Hello?” He answered.
“Now I remember why I gave you the extra key.” I said
Riley laughed
“I’ll be right over.”
I sat on my porch and waited for Riley. I kept replaying those words in my head.
“Could he actually be gay?” I thought to myself
I heard footsteps which kind of brought me back to reality.
“What are you going to do in college Cara?”
“Shut up.” I said unamused
Riley opened my door dramatically.
“Anything else?” Riley asked
“I’m good Smartass, Thanks though.” I said jokingly
I watched Riley walk home... well mainly I just stared at his ass the whole time. I shut the door behind me and ran up stairs. It was about 3:45.
“Was I seriously at the beach for 5 five Hours?!” I questioned myself. I felt the ground underneath me shake.
“Great.” I mumbled
Noah was home from work. Which meant the sibling rivalry begin. I don’t know why Noah couldn’t just act like a 17 year old. Instead he had to act like a 10 year old who could drive. Which is another thing he rubbed in my face. I walked down stairs to find Noah drinking out of the milk carton.
“Grow up!” I scoffed
“In your dreams sis.” Noah Replied “Where are you going.”
“To Riley’s.. Why?” I asked
“Just cause Mom isn’t here doesn’t mean you can have a sleepover with your boytoy.”
I hated when he called Riley that, Now more then ever.
“Actually I can.” I replied Confidently. “Remember your party.”
“Shit!” Noah growled. “Have fun with Riley.”
“Thank you!” I replied
“What about his dad though?” Noah Asked
“Business trip.” I replied as I walked out the door. I checked my pockets for my key. For the first time it was actually there. I headed towards Riley’s house. Riley opened the door as if on cue.
“Welcome.” Riley said giggling
I walked inside slipping off my shoes. Riley wandered off to the kitchen while I headed to the basement. I set my bag down in the corner and plopped down on the bed. I was soon joined by Riley.
“You still seem pretty freaked about the whole gay thing.” Riley pointed out
“Its just so hard to believe.” I admitted “Every girl in the school wants you and you find none of them attractive.”
Riley laughed. “Maybe its just a phase.”
“Who was the last girl you found attractive?” I asked
“I think we have had enough confessions for the day. Riley said
“Whats that supposed to mean?”
“Well.” He said “It was Sophie Raines.”
“Don’t lie!” I said laughing
He laughed too
“Fine it was you.”
“What?!”
Riley glared at me.
“Don’t pretend you didn’t know.”
“I didn’t.” I replied
Riley looked at me. There was that damn lip biting again. “He’s Gay!” I kept saying in my mind. Not even that made him unattractive
