Riley got up off of the couch and walked up stairs... Him just leaving after a situation like that made me wonder if he was puzzled by himself. He did make a face which seemed like he was ashamed by himself for even asking. It was about 20 minutes until he returned.
"What was that about?" I asked
"I thought I heard my sisters car pull into the garage." He replied
"Why would your sister be home and why is that a bad thing." I said
"She had mentioned she might visit over the summer.. And if she saw you she would have told my dad." He replied
"Oh shit... I forgot about that factor." I mumbled.
Riley and I went silent again before bringing up the slightly awkward topic of us 'dating.'
"Soooooo," he said "you realize being my girlfriend you're going to have to kiss me and do all of the things that couples do..." He sighed while rubbing his hands down his thighs.
"Yes, I know Riley." I laughed
He was being quite serious about this little plan.
"Should we practice.. You know kissing and stuff?" He whispered as if he was asking himself first.
"We could I guess." I replied hesitantly. Riley took a deep breath as if preparing for this. I stopped him as he leaned in.
"Kisses are supposed to happen naturally Ri... So start over without preparing yourself first. Just let it happen, surprise me!" I said
Riley sunk back in his seat.
"I was never good at this. Sorry Cara.." Riley said sympathetically
"Don't be sorry! Just try again." I smiled at him and he smiled back so I know he was okay. He leaned in again less awkward this time. Our lips met naturally. Making it better then the last one. Our lips seemed to be like a puzzle. Our lips were Locked just like the pieces in the puzzle. I pulled away. Surprising Riley, I could tell by his expression.
"Did I do something wrong?" Riley asked.
"No, it was perfect." I replied
Riley smiled and I smiled back. Maybe this would work out.
