Chapter. 12 - Forever Falls

YN-3 Pov

I've been hanging out with Weiss and Blake alot more since the night I told them I was a Guardian. I also got Ren and Nora to tell my story to Jaune and Pyrrha, they took it pretty well, I'm still a friend in their eyes. But Jaune seems a bit.. distant. Also Ruby and Yang seem to keep changing the subject when we bring up Jack, more specifically, what they did to him. They have guilty faces whenever we bring him up, may have to pry deeper later. But anyways, we are walking through the Forever Fall Forest. And I must say, it looks beautiful.

Glynda: "yes students, the Forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peaches asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest. And I'm here to make sure that none of you die while doing so" we all stop as Jaune, carrying about 6 jars, for some reason, bumps into Cardin. Who whistles to feign innocence.

Glynda: "each of you is to gather one jars worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at four o'clock. Have fun!"

Cardin: "c'mon, buddy! Let's go" Jaune looks towards his team. And follows Cardin.

Is there something I'm missing here? Ghost, follow them.

I hold my hand out to let Ghost materialize. As soon as he does he flies at a safe distance so he won't get spotted by anyone.

I follow my team to a spot. Then I move over to a tree and size it up. Looking for the perfect spot to strike, I take out my knife and stab at a spot where I think it'll give me the most sap. It works as the sap flows into my jar. I sit on my knees while I let it flow into my jar.

I wonder how Ghost's doing.

Pov Switch - Ghost

I wait in some bushes, just watching CRDL laze around as Jaune does all the work.

Jaune comes back with all six jars full of sap. he puts them down, immediately falling over.

Cardin: "hey. Great work, Jauney boy. Now that wasn't so hard, was it?"

Jaune: "I think I'm allergic to this stuff.."

Cardin: "great, great great. So, Jaune, I bet you're asking yourself, 'why did my buddy Cardin ask me to collect six jars of tree sap when there's only five of us?' "

Jaune: "that is one of the many questions that I have asked myself today, yes" Jaune sits up.

Cardin: "well, come with me and you'll find out"

Jaune: "oh.. gulp" I follow them, sneaking from tree to tree, bush to bush, To a cliff. I hide up high in a tree just behind them.

Short Pov switch - YN-3

As I'm talking with Weiss, I notice five blue dots on my tracker. I look over and see Jaune and Team CRDL on a nearby cliff, I let Jaune handle this and go back to chatting.

Back to - Ghost

The cliff isn't very high but still over looks everyone else. My Guardian is chatting away with Weiss as he fills his jar.

I witness Nora eat/drink? a jar of sap VERY fast as soon as Ren passes her a jar full of it.
