Chapter 4: The new student

It was 7:40am, kids were in 5th period. They were taking down notes in Mr Stein's class when a girl walked in. She showed the teacher her schedule and went to sit down in an empty seat next to iris. After an hour, the bell rang and the hallway was flooded by students. Sara, Iris, Jesse and Nia were in the girl's bathroom fixing their hair and makeup when the door opened and a girl entered. Hey, you're the new girl? Right? Iris asked. The girl nodded. Yeah, I'm Kate. I'm Iris, and this is Sara, Jesse and Nia. Iris said as she introduced herself and her friends. Nice to meet you guys. Kate said with a friendly smile. Hey, uh, we're all going to Jitters today after school. You wanna join us? Jesse asked. Uh.. Sure. Kate said. Kate was just about to leave the bathroom when she turned back to the girls. Uh, can you guys please help me with something? Kate said as she took out her schedule. Could you please explain my schedule. I don't understand it. And could you please tell me how to get to my next class? Kate asked showing her schedule to the girls. OK, so. We have A day and B day. A days is when we have periods 1 through 4, and B  days is when we have periods 5 through 8. Sara explained. Right now, you have study hall with Mr Constantine. We have that too, so we're all gonna walk together and we'll show you where it is. Sara said. OK, thanks. Kate said.

When the school day ended, the girls went to Jitters. They ordered some coffee and found a place to sit. The cheerleaders loved hanging out at Jitters. Not just the cheerleaders, the students at CCHS always came to Jitters to hang out. It was their ideal hang out place. So Kate, where you're from? Sara asked taking a sip from her iced coffee. I'm from Gotham. Kate said. How's it like there? Nia asked. It's gloomy, gritty, busy and there's a lot of crime there. But it's nice once you get to know it. Kate said. What do you think of CCHS so far? Jesse asked. It's nice. Different from my old school in Gotham. I really like Mr Constantine and Ms Horton though. Kate said. They're my favorite teachers too! Well, aside from Coach Michaels and Ms Lane. Nia said. Same here! Iris said, surprised. The girls continued chatting throughout the afternoon.
