episode 3: deceit

"Joy is my best friend ,she would not lie to me,would she?
Maybe she wants the best from me or maybe she is in love with John, I don't trust Mbaise girls,Anyways I don't care." I said in my mind before Joy walked into the room,She waved at me and went straight to her bed and picked up a novel different from the other one I saw her reading yesterday.
   "Joy, what's up, you're with another novel today have you finished the one of yesterday, nawa for you oo"
    "I'm fine oo ,I'm done with that other one ,it wasn't that big ."she said
  "OK ,that's cool ,what's the name of this big one ."
  "The secret art of love by Timothy Spearman ,now it's time for me to start please no disturbance now ,go and have fun."
   "No problem ma,I will be in the field ,the guys have a match with Soludo highschool ,bye."
   I could barely hear her as I ran out of the room ,maybe she wanted to say something about John ,as I walked towards the school shop to buy a bottle of coke ,I saw the guys warming up ,John was with a senior girl, she was smiling or I would say blushing,I wondered what he was telling her,as he saw me staring he came closer to me ,I waved and he said "just a wave? What about a hug?"
Before I could say no problem he had already hugged me, I asked him who the girl was and he said "oh Judith ,she's my cousin ,any problem?"
"No problem at all."
"So what have you decided? I know your friend Joy must have told you negative things about me,but that's cool though,I'm tired explaining myself to people it's all fine."
"She told me you asked her out, is that true?"
"God forbid ,me ask her out ,am I stupid ,damn! girls can do anything when they are in love ,she told me she liked me and I told her I love you and she went ahead to lie to you,well all is good, I'll speak to you after the game, bye."
  I was really stunned , why Joy would lie to me ,was that why she was reading the secret art of love? that girl is so cunning!
After the game I waled back straight to the room ,Joy greeted and I didn't reply.
    "Ada,what happened? Did john break his leg or did he miss a goal ,why are you moody?"
  "Please spare me the act,so John didn't ask you out? You just lie to me, you're not ashamed of yourself ,please you cease to be my friend from today ,you're a big lie and I do not associate with such people."
"Was that what John told you? Anyways you can date John ,but you'll regret your words in a few weeks ,I wouldn't tell you anything again, I think you have been blinded by love."
I didn't say a word after that ,I lost a friend ,
"I need to start choosing my friends ,in fact friends are scam!!"
