The dawn cracked crisp and clear. Over the horizon, the sun slowly emerged out, its faint radiance dispelling the dark veil of the night, bringing along with it, new hopes and aspirations.

The long night was almost a sleepless night fuelled by excitement, for the new disciples, as they impatiently waited for the day to dawn, so they could start a new phase of their life, soon.

Cleaning and freshening up, they all gathered together in the public square of the outer sect.

The seventy-two new disciples, stood in rapt attention and order.

On a low platform in the public square, stood some senior masters of every factions, donned in silver-grey robes and junior masters in cloud grey robes. The emblem on their robes denoted the faction they belonged to and the number of stars around it signified their rank.

Inside the Celestial Jade Sect, it was divided into outer sect and inner sect. The latter commanded a respectful position, both in and out of the sect, where its disciples were held in high esteem and the masters and elders were venerated as gods.

However, becoming an inner sect disciple wasn't an easy feat.

The outer sect selected new disciples every five years, through rigorous tests. The fame of being an outer sect  disciples of the sect alone, was something that many yearned for, nothing to say of  becoming the inner sect disciples.

The outer sect disciples were divided into two groups. The regular outer sect students and the top hundred-rank list students.

The masters on the dias glanced over the new group, standing attentively, pride, excitement and nervousness all evident on their bodies. They appreciated the attitudes of the new disciples and looked forward for the emergence of new dark horses from the batch.

One of the senior master from the swordplay faction stepped forward.

"You all are disciples of Celestial Jade Sect now. The titles you had, your family background, nothing matters here. You all have only one identity- the disciples of Celestial Jade Sect. When you go out of the sect, remember your identity and never do things that would tarnish the honor of our sect".

"You all were introduced to the rules yesterday. Inside the Sect, you are required to follow the rules.Anyone found disobeying the rules will face the disciplinary actions".

"The disciples are required to be punctual to their classes, prim and properly dressed. Lack of it will be met with punishment".

After the general introduction, they were filled in, with details of their classes and schedule.

The introduction ceremony took an hour to complete but didn't smother their enthusiasm.

The meeting was dispersed and they entered the classroom. Everyone scuttled around to catch a good seat, tactically leaving the front row for the 'superior' ones among them.

Best students deserves the best seat. We will make do with the subsequent seats.

Wan Huang, Wan Fang and Ren Weilin got seats in the ninth row. Yun Shan joined them in the same row.

Their first class for today was the apothecary studies. A senior master of apothecary faction began the class, teaching them the basics. Everyone's concentration was at its peak, with the pin drop silence in class broken by the orotund voice of the master resonating in the room.

The second class was taken by the  swordplay faction where they were taught the basic swordplay techniques of the Sect. The class was conducted inside the big practice hall, where they were divided in pairs to practice the swordplay.

The Masters teaches the lessons. The improvement and development of the  disciples were dependent on their talent and perseverance and how they cultivated themselves.

Everyone practised their swordplay in the training hall, totally forgetting their surroundings and only focusing on improving themselves.

The third class was led by the martial arts faction.  The master just summarized some basic guidelines and left. The class was then continued by his two senior disciples who taught the initial steps and practiced with the class.

Their mornings were spent attending the classes and practising cultivation for the rest of the day.

Wan Huang's routine was totally hectic. She had to abide by the class schedule at day time, and at night she was supervised by xiufeng inside the Red Jade Palace to cultivate a new element cultivation technique.

This kind of busy life was nothing new to Wan Huang, as she lived through this frenetic routine before, under her handsome master's guidance.

But xiufeng was totally enjoying his new role.

After being spanked and gropped by her, he painstakingly came up with a revenge plan to regain his dignity. He fished out a cultivation technique from somewhere and commanded her to learn it.

Wan Huang was already dead tired by her busy schedule and wanted to rebel against his command. But will xiufeng be this easygoing?

He taunted her for being weak. Mocked her for her cowardness at tough situations, sneering and ridiculing her at all instances.

This ignited her competitiveness and stubbornness, to prove him wrong. If she could live such a manic life before, she can do it again.

The new cultivation technique was for fire element. Her fire element was only at level one, and it has been like that for last nine or ten months without any improvements.

Her master's departure had adversely affected the foundation he laid for her.

The cultivation technique xiufeng chose for her was named the Flaming QI Technique, a level two fire element technique.

The Flaming QI Technique had three levels of comprehension.

The first level was to strengthen the fire element's power and to maintain it for a longer time.

The second level was to convert this fire element into an offensive power.

The third level was to use this fire element as a defensive power.

Although a level two technique, the Flaming QI Technique was a rare cultivation technique in the  East Yue continent.

Its difficulty to comprehend and practice and the bonus points it provided made it a rare cultivation technique.

Her efforts to cultivate the new technique was met with little to none results everyday. She didn't even have the energy to banter with xiufeng, who assumed the role of a strict master to lord it over her.

Dragging her exhausted body, she always ended up on her bed, half asleep each day.

This routine repeated everyday. It tired her out so much that she sometimes dozed off in the class only to be woken up by Wan Fang or Ren Weilin.

They were also in the same situation, but they couldn't understand how Wan Huang got exhausted to this extent.
