Aden's brother, Luke, had been staying with us for a while now, and every day, he found ways to make me uncomfortable. His constant presence and unwelcome attention weighed on me, but I didn't know how to bring it up to Aden.
One evening, Aden left to get groceries, leaving me alone in the house with Luke.
"Aden went to the store, Peach," Luke said, using Aden's nickname for me.
"Luke, please... Enough already," I said, frustrated and exhausted by his persistent behavior.
"Oh, I'll stop after you give me what I want," he replied with a smirk.
I undress and lie on the bed, facing up. This is what he wants. It's been a few weeks, and I should be about three months pregnant.
Luke strips and climbs onto the bed, positioning himself on top of me. He begins rubbing himself against me.
"You like that, baby?" he moans.
I say nothing. I hate it, but of course, my body reacts. He lets go, and I know this means I have to touch him. I begin, and he kisses me. He grabs my breast, nibbles on it, then sucks on it with his mouth.
"I love you so much, Nina," Luke said as he came on me.
"Eww," is all I can think. I'll never get used to this.
The door opens, and Aden walks in, carrying bags of groceries.
"Peach, I got your favo—" He stopped mid-sentence, his eyes darkening as he took in the scene. "What the hell is going on?"
I was completely mortified. About time he found out what his scum of a brother does to me every day.
Luke quickly stepped back, but it was too late. Aden dropped the bags and lunged at him, landing a hard punch to his face. Luke stumbled, clutching his eye.
"Get out of my house before I do something I'll regret," Aden growled.
Luke muttered something under his breath, stormed out, and slammed the door behind him—receiving a black eye from Aden before he left. Aden looks like he wants to kill me.
"Peach, what was that?" His voice was calmer now, but there was an edge to it.
I hesitated, then took a deep breath. "Aden... I need to tell you something."
His eyes narrowed. "What is it?"
"I'm pregnant."
His tense posture softened slightly. "You're what?"
"I'm three months along," I admitted. "I didn't tell you sooner because I wanted to be sure. And... I was scared."
"Scared of what?"
"Scared of how you'd react... and scared because Luke knew before you did."
Aden's jaw clenched. "Luke knew?"
"I told him when he first started acting this way, hoping it would make him stop. But he didn't."
Aden ran a hand through his hair, his anger shifting to concern. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Tears welled in my eyes. "I didn't know how. I thought I could handle it on my own, but I was wrong."
He sighed and stepped closer, placing a hand gently on my stomach. "I would never let anything happen to you or our baby, Peach."
I nodded, relief washing over me.
"Come on," he said softly. "Let's get you a doctor's appointment. We need to make sure everything is okay."
For the first time in weeks, I felt safe. Aden was here, and we were going to face this together.
