#11 Hows and Whys

INT. BEDROOM - EVENING

Charlotte is Skyping with her friends.
They have already finished their group assignment and Elizabeth is telling them about her meeting with Benedict.

SHAWN
(Gasps)
You're joking, right!? Vanessa Cunningham did what??

SCARLET
I've always knew she's like that but bloody hell! Did she really flirted with Professor Cumberbatch in front of you like that?

ELIZABETH
(Roll eyes)
I'm telling the truth here alright? She really did that as if I'm invisible or something.

CHARLOTTE
That BITCH!

Before Charlotte could ask anymore details about it,
Benedict walks into the room.

BENEDICT
(Unaware of the situation)
Hey, I'm home.

EMILY
Who's that? Shawn, was that from you guys?

SHAWN
(Shook his head)
Nope. Charles is not back from the bathroom yet. We stay in the dorm okay? Who says "I'm home" when our house is literally nowhere near the campus??

SCARLET
So that's from Charlotte then? She's staying with her parents. By the way, Charlotte you're not on screen, where are you?

Charlotte puts a finger to her lips to make the shush gesture and points at her laptop.

'Shhhh!'
Benedict got it. She's Skyping with her friends.
He then kept quiet and was very careful with whatever he do just so he won't make noise.

CHARLOTTE
U-uh, I'm back haha....

EMILY
Who was that?

Benedict is at the wardrobe, taking out a casual tshirt that he can change into, when Emily asks the question.
He raises his eyebrows at the question and wonders what would Charlotte's answer be.

CHARLOTTE
(Nervous)
It's u-um... my DAD!
Yes! It's my dad. He just got home from work!

BENEDICT
(Trying to hold his laugh)
I'm her dad now huh?

Benedict turned to look at Charlotte.
He gave her the "Really?" look.
She mouthed "Sorry..." and returned a "No choice!" look.
He smiles and went to the bathroom.

ELIZABETH
Wow! For a second I thought that was Professor Cumberbatch! Is it just me or does your dad's voice sounds just like him? It's probably just me but OH MY GOD! You guys should listen to how he rejected Vanessa! She thought she ace at flirting and all but clearly it's not working with Professor Cumberbatch.

CHARLOTTE
(Curious)
What did he say?

ELIZABETH
He told Vanessa that his wife will be upset if he gave her his number! Oh and apparently Vanessa wasn't told that he's married yet so she was really surprised about it. She wanted so many answers to it but he was all like
(Imitates Benedict)
"That's personal. It's between me and my Mrs Cumberbatch. I don't owe anyone an explanation about it. Go find someone else to stick it up your lady part!"
