Chapter 20: Unfolded I

Justin McCann married Yvonne at the age of 22. He did his best to keep their marriage happy. Binigay ni Yvonne sa kanya ang pinakamagandang regalong natanggap nya sa buhay nya; si Jason, his little one. He loved the kid more than he loved himself or anybody else. Binigay nya ang lahat nya para sa pamilya nya. Sinigurado nyang walang kahit na sino ang makakasira nito.

But Justin never really loved his wife.

He even just married her in the first place because his dad made him think that he was obliged to do so.

Hindi man naging ganon kasaya ang childhood nya, minahal naman sya ng mom nya at ipinadama sa kanya na sya ang pinakamahalagang bagay sa buhay nito. His mom drowned him with love. Unfortunately, for his dad's eyes, he was nothing but a failure.

He always loved writing songs, writing his heart out was his passion. Pero ito ang lumikha ng distansya sa pagitan nila ng dad nya. He called him a disgrace to the family. Gusto nitong sumunod sya sa mga yapak nito at maging CEO ng pagmamay-aring BPO company balang araw.

He was seeking for his dad's love all his life, kaya nang sinabi nitong si Yvonne ang babaeng gusto nito para sa kanya, he tried to make him happy and granted his wish. He tried to love Yvonne and married her. He was desperate. He even started a small clothing line called Drew House to impress his dad more. At least he tried a little bit more on the business side.

Nang dahil sa mga ito, unti-unting gumanda ang relasyon nila ng dad nya. Everything seemed right and he felt complete. It seemed like everything has finally fallen into place. But little did he know, marrying Yvonne was a huge mistake.

He was trapped in a toxic relationship. Yvonne was nothing but a jealous and possessive wife. She was obsessed with him. And for some unknown reasons ayaw rin nitong mag-open up sa kanya. It's almost like whenever he's looking at her, hindi nya kilala kung sino ang kaharap nya. They always fought. He tried. Sinubukan nyang iwasan ang makipag-away sa asawa nya but it was useless. Kahit nung isinilang na si Jason sa mundo, isang bagay parin talaga ang pinag-aawayan nila.

"Why do you always do this?!" he screamed. "You know damn well I tried Yvonne. I'm trying here. But you? You're always pushing me away. Why?!" he was confused. He knew Yvonne loved him. She was always been in love with him pero 'di nito magawang ipakita sa kanya ang totoong Yvonne.

"Stop. Just stop, Justin."

"See?" he laughed sarcastically, gesturing his hand away in disbelief. "Yan, ginagawa mo na naman. Ganito nalang ba palagi? Everytime I'm trying to understand you more ikaw 'tong gusto akong patigilin." he scoffed, narrowing his eyes at her. "Are you hiding something?"

"I am not hiding something!" she snapped.

Justin faced the ceiling, pinching the bridge of his nose, eyes closed. It was a never ending cycle. Ganito sila palagi. He never felt close enough to her. Pakiramdam nya na may tinatago ito. He thought Jason was the missing puzzle. He thought with Jason in their lives, she would open up to him more. But no, having Jason wasn't enough.
