Hold Each Other (Lou x Nolan)

Chapter 3

Sunlight and flowers seems like something out of this world to him. He continued on. As he made his way down his dull stroll, he tripped over a rock.

''Ow!'', he yelled as he fell to the ground. He rubbed his newly scrapped knee and saw the rock had a piece of paper taped to it. he took the rock in his his hand to inspect the paper. With a surprise he sees it is...himself.

A drawing, of himself. Not greatly drawn, but, still himself. Then Lou took another look at the note and saw the smallest signature in the corner of the paper. 

Lou was speechless.

He ran back to his mansion, scrapped knee and all. He pulled open the door and burst inside. towards his room. Could it be? After all these years?

Lou reached his room at the end of the hall on the main floor and shut the door. He shuffled his shoes off socks off and sat on his perfectly made bed. he looked at the note in is hand. The signature. It reminded him. Reminded him of...

Nolan.

A flashback occurred. One night when the Uglies were in the process of doing their testing for the Big World. Lou had wandered into the library to have some alone time to decompress these new events. He picked up a the manual, the 'How To' book for Pretties.

Then suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he spots a figure. Lou looks up from the book and sees it's the boy with the green hair streak. He couldn't remember his name. But the face was familiar. Small nose, brown eyes, pretty...eyes.

"Um, hi there!'' the boy said.

Lou sighed, "hello,'' he said, still reading his book.

''That's a good book, I've read it 4 times!'', the boy said.

Lou blinked, ''5 times? Who reads that much?''

"Oh..well'', the boy scratched his head and blushed awkwardly, ''I like to read. I find it fun.''

''Fun? Well, if you say so. I need to refresh my memory every day to make sure my Pretty knowledge is in tip top shape'', Lou remarked as he returned to his book.

''By the way, I'm Nolan'', the boy said as he offered his hand to shake.

Lou nodded his head, ''yes very nice now if you don't mind I would like to concentrate.''

''If you like that book, I know a few more that I myself like to read. If you want I can show them to you'', Nolan offered with a crooked smile.

Lou lowered his book and gave a smirk, "I have a reputation to maintain. I can't be seem reading anything other than the manual''.

Nolan shuffled his feet, ''Oh, ok, no problem. I will let you get to it then'' he said as he began to walk away.

Lou sighed as he went back to reading. he waited until Nolan's footsteps were faint then he peaked above the book. Small size, not very muscular, or at all. Just that one streak of green in his brown hair...his soft, brown hair.
