''Happy Birthday!''
Tyler, wearing his birthday hat and his new blue shirt his parents got him, stared in awe.
His Dad pulled out two dolls out of a party bag.
One with blonde hair.
The other with brown and some green hair.
''These are for you, son.''
No response. Just awe.
Tyler held this new dolls in his hands. The blonde one was very handsome. He could see his reflection in the blue eyes. He turned the doll around and admired the uniform.
He then studied the other doll. The more 'imperfect one'. His two coloured eyes and hair were charming.
Different. But charming.
Different was charming.
He turned the doll around and saw a small tag attached to his shirt.
Tyler looked at it closer. It said, ''I love Lou'' written on it.
The child looked at the charming doll and the handsome one. ''Is this Lou?''
''Yes I suppose so! Did you give him that name?''
Tyler showed the name tag. The parents were a bit confused as they didn't put on any tags on the dolls.
The dad leaned on one knee to face Tyler, ''Well, maybe they are a couple already. But they need to be married.''
Tyler brightened, ''I can marry them!''
''Of course you can! I can make some suits for them.'' The mom offered.
''Maybe one suit? Lou and wear one but I want the other doll to wear a dress.''
''Good idea! I'll start making them after I finish my coffee.''
Tyler hugged both of his new dolls and went up into his room. His opened the door and set the dolls on his bed. ''Bye Lou, bye Lou's husband!''
He left the room.
After a few minutes, tears streamed from Nolan's face.
Lou was still in shock.
Nolan rolled over and hugged Lou. Lou started to tear up. They kissed once more.
''We.....''
''Have a kid.''
