Jason's POV
I've been in love with Aurora Welsky since I was sixteen. No other girl mattered to me after I saw her dance. Since then, every single second of my life, I had thought about how my life would be like with her.
Her hair darker than a moonless night sky, her eyes browner than molten chocolate and her lips, I never found anything worth comparing them to.
Holding her close to me always transfers me into my safe haven.
But carrying her now, looking at her unconscious body, her face where multiple bruises are quickly forming and her pale skin, it is impaling through me like a searing iron rod, blistering me in and out.
I place her carefully in the back seat and to my horror, she is not even making the little discomforting sounds like she was earlier.
I try to calm myself, breathing deeply through the nose and blinking my eyes which have started to fog up. As I start the engine, my eyes take in my bloodied hands and my mind starts entering a loop of déjà vu , reminding me when Mr. Welsky had fallen down unconscious in front of me, hitting his head on the ground.
My hands carried the same colour of crimson that day.
I call mom and start driving, informing her in short about what happened and telling her the name of the hospital.
I call Alec and give him the necessary instructions, my hands shivering all the time as I keep reminding myself that she'll be fine.
Aurora will be fine.
This is not the same thing.
I pick her out and rush through the doors of the hospital. Mom had already reached and made the arrangements.
" We'll take it from here sir. Please wait outside." The nurse instructs. I want to tell her to fuck off, to let me be by Aurora's side, but I think better of it and leave them be.
When I enter the waiting room, I see the two people I called waiting for me. Mom stands up from her seat when she sees me, expecting me to come to her so she can provide me with some solace, but I walk straight towards Alec.
I don't need peace or comforting. Not right now.
" Let's go." I order him and start walking out.
" Jason." Mom calls in a strained voice and I turn to look at her. She takes a pause before continuing. " Don't kill him, Okay?" She enunciates, even when she knows it is falling on deaf ears. I turn around and keep walking without giving any reply.
The drive this time is nowhere close to careful. The speedometer hits 150 in two seconds and I drive towards the school like my life depends on it, and it does because if I don't find him there, I know all hell inside me is going to break loose.
Alec is as silent as always even when the car comes at a screeching halt in the school ground.
I see him.
Walking out of the school as if it is the most natural thing.
" Sir, remember what your mother said." Alec reminds me, but right now, all I see is red as I watch Tristen walk through the ground.
With a loud huff, I get out of the car and walk towards him, my fists clenching and my teeth gritting uncontrollably.
The bastard has the audacity to smile when he sees me coming closer.
" I never thought we'll be meeting twice on the same day, lover boy. Aren't you-" He doesn't finish his sentence cause I don't let him. I punch him square in the jaw and he stumbles backwards, gripping his face.
