Yesterday was a good day with Ava as she was able to meet her biological dad and his wife, and this morning we were able to go to Adventureland with them, which was a lot of fun. Ava apparently really loves rollercoasters. I didn't realize how much I don't like rollercoasters anymore until today. After three rides, I was like, "I'd love to hold all y'all's stuff." I'm thankful Ava gets along with Nick because he loves rollercoasters. I guess we know where she got it from.
This afternoon, I had a grad party to go to for one of the girls I mentored at church, so I brought Morgan and Ava.
When we walked in, of course, we got a cupcake because why else would I go to a grad party? Then Elizebeth, the graduate, came up to me, and was like, "Hey, you have a twin." She had warned me at church about another dude named StePHen who reminded her of me.
Honestly, at this point in my life, if I had a long lost twin, I wouldn't be surprised, so I allowed her to lead us over to this guy who was also blonde like me.
"You guys are totally twins. You remind me of each other, and you're both named Steven(Stephen)."
"So, I've heard a lot about you," he told me.
"Because we're both named Steven(Stephen)?" I gave him my hand.
He shook my hand. "Yeah, and I asked Elizebeth if you're as good-looking as me."
"Oh, what did she say?" Elizebeth was long gone, talking to someone else.
He smirked. "She said, 'yes.'"
"I guess I'll take that as a compliment."
"I also asked her if you had a southern accent or ride motorcycles."
"Does she think I have a southern accent still?"
"No, she said you tried to lose it. Where are you from, again?"
"Alabama."
Elizebeth had said he was from the south, too. "But do you ride motorcycles? She didn't know."
"No, I don't. I don't have time, but you do?"
"Yup. Do you spell it with a PH or a V?"
"A V."
He groaned, amused. "Well, it's nice to meet you."
Then I introduced him to Morgan and Ava. "This is Morgan, my fiancée, and this is Ava, my niece."
In exchange, he introduced his wife.
Later, a lady who Elizebeth obviously knew came in, named, "Jean," and it seemed like everyone went to greet this lady because a bunch of people went into her direction, and even though Stephen didn't know who she was, he joked, asking if Jean was a boy or girl. He then asked a random boy if he was, "Jean", making me appreciate my twin's sense of humor.
As we were heading out, I told him that I'm writing a blog, but I made him swear that he wouldn't read it just in case we had more random things in common.
After the party, we headed back home for dinner, and Ava asked on the way home, "Is that guy secretly your twin?"
"Yes," Morgan told her.
"Really?"
"Probably." I smirked at her from my rearview mirror.
"So, I have another uncle?"
"Sure," I said, "if you ever see him again."
