Filled with confusion, hate, and and astonishment was the glare I have Johnny. Confusion because I wasn't understanding how he could be so nice to me after all I had done; hate was because I honestly couldn't stand him and he was dating my boyfriend. ; astonishment because he was truly what I aspired to be. I don't know if he pitied me, or if he got a kick out of knowing he was my last resort for survival, or if he was genuinely being nice. Either way I couldn't help but to be grateful for the son of a bitch.

"You okay, bunk buddy?" Johnny jokes as he works to help his younger brother complete some homework. I groan at him calling me bunk buddy. I've only been here for about two days and he's still calling me that stupid ass name.

"Why are you being so nice to me? After everything I've done to you?" I question. He lightly shrugs as he grabs the pencil from his brother and corrects his mistake.

"You're doing it wrong, buddy. Like this," He says softly as he shows Everett the correct way of doing the math problem," I don't know," Johnny says to me, "maybe because it's the right thing to do. You're not supposed to hold a grudge. Plus I'm doing this for Jahseh. Even though neither one of us aren't too fond of you, we don't want to see you out on the streets, and I personally wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that I could be helping you. "

My eyes roll at his generosity, but I smirk at his statement. Jah did all that convincing just for me? Maybe I still have some type of spell on him even after all of his naysaying.

"Y'know," I say to be petty, "it's awfully nice of you two to be so kind to me, and I think it's even nicer of you to be doing this for Jah. He can never say no when it comes to me. "

Johnny just brushes off my attempt to get under his skin. He wasn't even bothered by it; in fact, he laughed.

"Yeah, well, I guess that makes two of us. I mean, we can never just leave him alone. We can't get enough of him. Too bad he's for sharing, and I may be sharing a room with you right now, but I'm not a man who likes to share. Don't do too well with it. " he speaks firmly as he looks me right in the eyes.

"I think you do just fine with sharing. You were nice enough to let me have him for a few minutes back at the hospital. You're such a swell guy. "I chuckle. His eyes go dark and his little brother notices. Johnny covers Everett's ears. He must've had a few select words for me.

"How about I share my gun with you? You can have every bullet in the chamber," he threatens, them waving off the thought he says, "Never mind though, you don't do too well with guns around you."

I stand to my feet as does Johnny. Little Everett looked lost as to what was even going on. I get in Johnny's face and flinch at all. Wow, scary.

"You got something you want to say?" I ask.

He nods. "As a matter of fact I do. Cover your ears, Everett. " Everett hastily does so, "Don't come 'round here in my house thinking you can still play your stupid little games. I have every right to whoop your ass cause your on my property. If I hear you mention Jahseh again, there will be consequences and repercussions."

I roll my eyes. Does he honestly think that I'm scared of him?

"Yeah, Whatever tough guy. I don't even know why the hell I even listened to him. I don't favor you at all and yet I'm staying here because I have no choice. "
