"How much longer will you be suspended from school? I'm starting to miss you. "I ask Johnny as we lay together in his room. My fingers were running through his hair and he was rubbing my back. The moment couldn't get any better.
"I won't be back until Tuesday. My parents were pissed that I was fighting, but they understood that it was for a good cause." Johnny shrugged.
"I'm a good cause?" I tease. He nods.
"You always are. Not just to me, but my family thinks you are too. "
I wasn't surprised. Mama Elisa loves me and so does Jeff(Johnny's Dad) and little Everett. Even Johnny's grandmother likes me. They seem to think I'm the best choice for him, and Elisa even told me that I was better than the girls he's brought home.
"I know..." I say cockily. We lay in each other's silence for a moment and my mind wonders off. Without Johnny I don't know what I would do. He's treated me so well and has taught me to be more open with my sexuality and myself. I've literally seen a whole new world with him. A world that Christopher kept me away from in order to keep his exactly the way he wanted.
"What are you thinking about over there? I smell something burning. "Johnny jokes. I giggle and lightly push him away from me. He sits up and looks at me seriously.
"Honestly, What are you thinking about?"
"Us. "I answer. "I was just thinking about us and how grateful I am for you. "
A smile spreads across his face. "I feel the same way about you everyday I wake up. You're such an amazing and wonderful human being that sometimes I think I'm dreaming. "
"It's a damn shame that someone else used to tell me I didn't matter at all, but now I have you to tell me other wise. "
"He was just stupid, that's all. Look at him now; he seems to think that he can take you away from me."
"And he won't. "I finish. Johnny grabs my hands and looks me directly in the eyes.
"Speaking of him, has he messed with you since I've been suspended? Tell me the truth, baby. "
"He hasn't done more than glare at me every time he sees me. You must've scared him because he hasn't came near me. "
"And I'll whoop his again if he ever goes near you or touches you. If he keeps glaring at you come Monday morning let me know. " I nod as I get up and put my shoes back on. It was getting late and I know my parents would worry if I wasn't home before it got too dark. Johnny sits up and stretches in his spot.
"You sure you don't want a ride home or for me to walk with you?" Johnny asks. I shake my head no and kiss him one more time before I leave.
"Nope. I'll be fine, babe. Stop worrying about me so much. "
He sighs and gives up. "You better call me once you make it home. I will come and look for you if you don't. "
"Okay, okay. "I giggle. He escorts me to the front door and kisses me again before I leave.
"I know it's not that long of a walk, but I still want you to be careful. I love you, alright?" He mumbles against my lips.
"Love you too. Let me go before it's gets too dark out. It is Friday, y'know. I ain't got time to be dealing with no drunk hobos and random folks this evening. "
