Chapter 21. Sam
The building stood like a towering menace on the street corner, windows cracked, door missing a knob, like broken teeth. The figure stepped inside, cloaked, and she stepped down the halls after going through the entrance. Her footsteps had a clack to them, from the high heels she wore.
Destin sat on a table near the rec room, where a pool table sat, and clicked her heels together, looking around the room, a blank stare.
"You're finally here?" Destin asked. Arrianna stood near the fridge. Her wings were tucked under her hoodie, black, with a triangle emblem, that Sam couldn't tell where it was supposed to be from.
"Yeah. He's in back?" Sam said. "I had to meet with someone." She grabbed a cup off the counter and drank deeply, the water going down her throat soothing the burn from the smoke. Orion's strand had worked its magic. It was different, this time it pushed her memories to the forefront of her mind. She was going for the strand that was supposed to suppress her emotions, make everything stand still in her minefield of a mind.
"Oh, you had to meet with someone? What about me? I have a life too." Arrianna bit out at her.
"You wanted to come along." Sam grunted.
"Yeah. I just didn't think it was going to take this long." Arriana grumbled.
"Do what you need to do, or stick around, that's up to you." Sam said.
"Let's get this show on." Destin said, trying to diffuse the shadow that had risen up between the two girls.
"Whatever." Arriana said.
"Whatever." Sam replied.
In the next room, a couple of men sat on their knees tied up. Both were not blindfolded. Gagged, hands bound behind their backs.
One was blonde, the other black hair. The one- black-haired- disconcertingly looked like Micheal. She couldn't let that distract her, however.
"Cuties. Wish they didn't have to prey on women." Arrianna said.
"Yeah. That would be great, but they do. Vilus would want in on this, but I know that Sam wants just us." Destin said.
"Why?" Arrianna asked.
"Has he ever been through what we have? Has he been ripped to pieces from the inside, had every bit of himself ripped to pieces?" Sam growled. Her hands radiated energy.
"No." Arrianna said.
"Let's continue then." Sam said.
Both guys saw the exchange between the girls and started screaming, and were pretty loud despite the gags on their mouths.
Destin cracked a whip in the air, and both guys got quiet. Loud, like a snap of a firecracker.
"Quiet you piss ants. You know what you did. You know that preying on innocent women is wrong, but you did it anyway." Destin said after a moment, she let the crack of the whip, the sound settle in the air.
The black haired one's eyes went wide, and droplets of sweat fell from his forehead.
"I tracked this one down the other day. Vilus had mounted him to his ship. He pillaged the village with Lijuan and found this bag of flesh just outside a tent. He had his way with a young girl. And this one!" Sam pointed a jagged dagger, the blade at the blonde one's throat, pressed against his flesh. "He was found, by me, in a small town at Skaia, your mothers neck of the woods." Sam then pointed the dagger at Arrianna. "They need to be taught a lesson."
