Chapter 24. Sam:

May 2005...Minutes later...

Skaia...

Sam watched as the boy that stood before her, Liam, a boy still loyal to Micheala, now a teenager, who used to help Micheala put on her dreses...was ripped to shreds. His body's torso was shredded like cheese, the eyes in his skull popped like jelly, and his face fell off like a thin sheet of silk...blood pooling the ground around them, as Alex dealt the killing blow.

"Anyone loyal to Micheala dies, this is something that should have been done years ago before she let royals poison her way of thinking. Bureaucracy in politics is always the worst way when you allow red tape to get in the way of the truth. The Fae are a pure line, especially with us, the Coppellas." Alex's eyes were manic and gleamed that purple glow. Not many things scared Sam, she'd killed many rapists in the last year alone, leaving their bodies around Skaia, sending a message to many of the gangs that organized rapings of women, and preyed upon young girls at bars...but this was way too far. Liam was an innocent child. And he was on the verge of becoming a man. He served Micheala well.

"Do you not agree? Sammy? Do you feel that I was in the wrong, for killing the boy?" Alex spun on her heel. She must have felt the negative energy from Sam. It wouldn't have been a first, Sam isn't exactly that positive ball of energy.

"He could have been able to serve you, an informant if you had proven that you and Micheala did at one time agree in the way of our bloodline. She did love our family, our fairy line, she even kept humans as they were, a servant of the cause. The noble cause." Sam said, trying to choose her words wisely, despite wanting to kick the shit out of dear ol' Granny.

"Yes...and no. Anyone who doesn't serve us, in absolute, is against us. There will come a time when you are betrayed, a young girl, by your very own people, and you will learn again...how it is to be powerless. I was once like you, naive...idealistic. I know of your noble actions against the gangs. And not once have I been in your way." Alex gestured her finger, her words in direct tone.

"I somehow knew that you'd figured it out." Sam said quietly. Angelica, her mother stood off to the side, her face conflicted, but she wanted to stay neutral, motioned for Sam to stay quiet, to deal with this, that Liam was just a peasant, not someone worth fighting over.

Micheal stood on the other side of the room, his hood up, a dark look on his face. Their government, their court was still predominantly the opposite of the Wulfric's...a woman driven monarchy. He was practically voiceless and remained so, the same as his father, Demecles, who his grandmother refused to allow in court.

"Micheal, dear boy, do you have anything to say?" Granny Alex said.

"Oh, I'm allowed a voice now? I think I'm much safer here, without saying much." Micheal said snidely.

"You're allowed a voice, we all are." Alex's voice turned to a growl.

"Like dad is? Because we all know how that turns out." Micheal grinned wickedly. His eyes flashed red, that familiar glow that always made Alex's skin crawl.

"He's a Copella." Alex was gritting her teeth now.

"Sure he is. Because lately...it seems, that the Abraxan guy has more of a say than our own family, but carry on." Micheal said sarcastically.

"Micheal..." Mom said in a warning tone.

"Don't worry mother, I'll practice the same attitude you have around your mom, where the man lacks a spine, its what you taught well." Micheal said.

"Hold your tongue, boy." Abraxan said quietly, he'd entered the room just seconds before.

"I was, before Granny Goodness here decided to ask for the commentary, if I recall, oh Gatekeeper," Micheal smirked at Abraxan. "In case you need a refresher."
