"Secrets caché dans les étoiles."

The night of August 27th, 1893

"Victoria Miss, thou own Mother has sent me to see if thou needs any help?" One of the maids asked shyly behind the door. "I'm alright, but thank thine for trying to help, I'm almost finished!"
I replied, fixing my hair as fast as I could in a bun before running downstairs to meet Mother and the Coachman at the Carriage. On the way to the Agreste Mansion, I could feel anxious the closer we got to the Ball, but Mother looked too thrilled for me to say anything about it.

"Ah! Welcome to our home!" Emilie smiled cheerfully while hugging Mother "Thank thou for inviting us Emilie it's a pleasure." Mother replied "please, the pleasure is all mine, everyone is still on their way but we've been filling up fast, so feel free to walk around, talk, or dance" Emilie spoke looking at me as I nodded in understanding.

When I walked into the ballroom, I had forgotten just how beautiful it truly was. The walls hath beautiful paintings on them, with detailed architecture across the pillars and walls all the way to the ceiling, the ceiling had a beautiful black Chandelier, in fact, it was like the whole ballroom was black except some silver here and there.
I talked to Felix and Ambrose for a little while before suddenly people spotted me and wanted to ask all sorts of questions about me and my mother's business.
"What's it like knowing thou hath such a talented mother?"

"Tis' an honor, I love thine Mother dearly and glad she's doing what makes her happy."

"Will thou inherit the family business?"

"I don't have an answer for that right now, maybe one day but for now I'm okay with how life is"

"What's it like moving from England all the way here to Paris-"

I politely excused myself from the pestering crowd of people and ran off into a different part of the Mansion, shutting the door behind me in case of being followed. I took a deep breath of the fresh air I was smelling and started to feel a little better.

"Oh I'm sorry I just needed some fresh air was all"

I opened my eyes and saw a boy with Jet black hair, with these beautiful sky blue eyes apologizing to me for not being in the ballroom.

"It's okay don't worry, I'm not the owners of this estate I'm not mad." I giggled watching him look a little embarrassed

"What's thine name?"

"My name is Lucian, Lucian Couffaine, what about thou miss?"

"I'm Victoria, Victoria L/N"

"A beautiful name for a beautiful girl I see, but why are thou out here and not in the Ballroom? I thought thou and Mrs. L/N were the reason for this ball in the first place?" He asked looking confused as ever,

"What about thou?"

"I couldn't handle being looked down at by Mr. Agreste any longer, Ambrose is my friend, and I came here since he invited all of our friends, but I feel out of place, while everyone else is laughing inside and having fun, and while watching the girl I love be so close to Ambrose while dancing, I could feel Mr. Agreste judging me from a mile away, I just needed a break." I looked at him with worry, I feel awful for him. If I had to witness the one I love dancing with another person I'd be sad too...
