Now She Sees You

The beast smashed into us, knocking the air out of my lungs. My head hit the floor - hard. Dark spots danced in front of my eyes, but disappeared after a few seconds. It took me a few moments to realise that the beast wasn't moving; Wells had shot it, but now it was a dead weight on top of us both. Groaning, we shoved it off as everyone else was either helping Jasper down or too shocked to move. It's blood was sticky on our clothes, my skinny jeans now stained with more blood.

"Jesus fucking christ, how much does this thing weigh?" I moaned as we were finally clear of the beast. Bellamy clambered to his feet, as did I.

"Now she sees you," Bellamy said to Wells, probably regarding their earlier conversation. I wasn't really paying attention, more so trying to stem the blood flowing from my newly cut forehead. I'd smashed it on a small, but sharp, rock jutting out of the ground when we went sprawling to the floor. It stung like a bitch, but I wasn't one to complain about pain. I'd been used to it my whole life.

"Hey, wildcat, you ok? That's a pretty big laceration you got there." If he hadn't been so sincere with his concern, I might have laughed at Finn's use of the word laceration.

"Umm, yeah, I'll be fine. We should be focusing on Jasper right now." I notioned to the limp, barely concious life form being held up by Wells and Finn.

As we got back to camp, excitement whipped up at our return. Octavia ran over to us, and I gave her a relieved smile.

"He's alive. In pain, but alive," I reassured her. She returned my smile, and went to stand beside her brother, but I could see the pain in her eyes. Just as I was about to follow Clarke and the others into the dropship, I heard Bellamy shout.

"Who's hungry?" The beast was laid out on the floor, with everyone gathered around. Taking one last look at the pack, I turned and walked into the dropship with the cheers of the hungry echoing behind me.

I was helping Clarke wipe down the wounds on Jasper, as Finn knelt down next to us. He handed Clarke a small metal figure, something he'd made himself. She smiled at him, and it was clear they had feelings for each other, though they'd only known each other for a mere few days. Luckily, the awkwardness was broken by Tasha climbing through the hatch.

"Hey girl, how was the scenery out there," I enquired about her trip to scout the area.

"Not bad sis. You need to see it," she replied happily as I got up to embrace her. We were the only thing left for each other. We were so close, more like best friends who never left each other's sides. Apart from in prison...

"Holy shit, you two are insanely identical..." Finn remarked, as him and Clarke just stared at us. It usually took people a while to take in the similarity.

"Hell yeah we are! That means unlimited awesomeness from the two most awesome people, right?" joked Tash.

"And right now, the awesome people are fucking starving! You guys coming?" My stomach was starting to growl uncontrollably. We all made our way to the fire after we made sure Jasper was restedand Clarke had cleaned up my forehead. Just as we got to the bottom of the ladder, Tash grabbed my wrist.

"I heard what Murphy did. You gonna play him? You know that's your main game, T," Tasha asked with concern.

"Ha, hell yeah. He won't know what hit him, trust me."

"Be careful,T. I can't lose you again..." She trailed off. I rested my hands on her shoulders, and looked her directly in the eyes.

"And you won't. We are in this together. We will always have each other. Everything we've been through, this will be the easiest we've had in a while, ok?" Tasha nodded gently, but we were distracted by a commotion outside. Giving each other one last glance, we ran outside to Bellamy punching a kid fully in the face. Bellamy stormed off, and nobody bothered after him. Sighing, I walked over to get me and Tash some meat.

"What do you think you're doing, wildcat?" Murphy asked with a sneer as he tried to grab my wrist. Jesus, he was slow. I managed to grab a stick for me and Tasha, before looking him dead in the eye.

"Whatever the hell I want," I replied airily before starting to walk away. "Oh, one more thing," I said turning around, "Only Finn calls me wildcat, you don't deserve that privilege." One last look at his face confirmed his hatred for me, as I went to take my seat next to Finn, Clarke and Tasha. "That kid is so up his own ass, jeez," I stated as I handed Tasha her meat.

"Woah, what the fuck? Your eyes just turned, like, golden orange. Are you ok?" Clarke looked me deep in the eye, making me feel all of a sudden very exposed.

"Uh yeah, fine. It must have been the reflection from the fire," I replied with an unsure smile. The three of them were now staring at me, and they knew as well as I did that it wasn't the fire. But they also didn't know the true reason. The gene was surfacing, and I couldn't stop it.
