I know it's cliche to use Francisco Lachowski as the main male character, but he is suiting for how I want the character to look. Also, I might change it in the future. If you have any suggestion you can leave them here>

I arrive at school a couple of minutes before the bell rings. Rushing to my locker, I see Faye, Caleb, and Liv standing next to Faye's locker. I reach my locker and hurriedly pull out everything I need and shove it in my bag.
"Hey, Ellie," Faye says from behind me.
I turn around after zipping up my bag. "Hey," I reply with a huff of exhaustion.
"Did you hear what happened over the weekend?", Caleb asks.
"No, I just got here," I reply.
"Apparently, Gage moved back into town over the weekend," Caleb states.
"Gage! As in, Gage Wright?", I ask confused.
"Who's Gage?", Liv asks with her eyebrows creasing together, clearly confused.
Gage had previously been apart of our friend group, but he moved to Virginia halfway through freshman year. We all lost touch with him a couple of months after he moved and hadn't heard from him since.
"That would be me," I hear from a familiar voice behind me.
I turn around and there he is. Gage is right behind us. I hadn't seen him in years and he looked quite different from two years ago. The braces were gone and he seemed to finally grow into his ears.
"Hey guys," Gage smiles looking between Caleb, Faye, and I.
"Hey," we respond in unison. His eyes move from us over to Liv.
"And who might you be?", he asks with a smile.
"Liv Foster, I just moved here," she responds and holds out her hand for Gage to shake.
"Nice to meet you Liv," he states, shaking her hand with a grin. She smiles and shakes his hand. I sense a slight blush on her cheeks and I almost laugh.
"Nice to meet you too," she responds quickly and lets go of his hand.
I wonder why Gage didn't keep in touch? Did he just not want to be reminded of his past here? Did he get a new phone and didn't remember our numbers? Whatever the reason, I was curious to find out.
It's now lunch, but instead of eating, I head towards the school library so I can use the computers to print a paper due for Chemistry.
"Hey Ellie," I hear a voice say from behind me. I turn and its Gage. I smile slightly.
It's not that I'm mad at him. I'm confused and I don't know how to react to him being back.
"Hi Gage," I reply.
"Ellie I really need to explain to you what happened when I left," he blurts out.
"Okay..." I trail off.
"A month after we moved, I broke my phone in a car crash. I couldn't remember anything for a while until my mom pulled up pictures from middle school and it all came back to me. I wanted to reach out and apologize for not speaking to you, Faye, and Caleb, but after I broke my phone, I had to get a new one and I didn't remember your numbers by heart. Then I remembered my parents had your parents number, but by then it had been a year. I thought you guys wouldn't want to speak to me anymore," he hung his head low and wouldn't meet my eyes.
