"I don't have a dress for tonight, so I'd probably just going to put on whatever I can find in my closet" Jennie said in regarding to her last minute decision as they both walked to take their lunch breaks.
"you're such a loser for deciding to go last minute, I hope you find something to wear then" Kiyoung replied as he grabs two lunch bags and hand one to her.
she grabs onto it as they both headed towards the cafeteria tables to sit.
"aye" one of the guy came towards them, blocking their way to the table.
Jennie looked at Kiyoung, thinking it was one of his friends but he also looked lost. "what's with that look?" the guy said as he pushes Kiyoung back away so he can go next to her.
Kiyoung felt offended and immediately shoves his self back at him. grabbing him by his shirt collar, he looked him in the eye, "what the heck are you doing?"
Jennie stood besides Kiyoung as she tries her hardest to stop both of them, "Kiyoung, let go" she said as the other guy jerked off a smirk. Kiyoung did so and then pushes him harder so they can clear the way for them to go sit.
"let's go" Kiyoung said to Jennie as he picked up his lunch bag and make its way past him.
"go to the dance with me Jennie!" the guy exclaimed the reason behind why he pushes Kiyoung and approached him.
the words ringed inside of Jennie's head as she turned back to face him. she became skeptical as it wasn't coming from Kiyoung but someone else that she doesn't know. however like always, it didn't take long enough for Kiyoung to jump in.
"she got a date already" he lied and without looking, grab her by the hand.
'what the heck' she screamed inside as their hand touches for the very first time. it was cold as she felt a chill runs down her back. just within a second, she struggle to un-hold it but Kiyoung insisted by holding it tightly.
the guy 'tsk', "she didn't say that" and pointed towards Jennie as she was in silence, "plus you'll be the last one to get her if you keep acting as friends" the guy spat out some facts at Kiyoung. she swallow in her nervousness and fought out of Kiyoung's grip, "sorry, but I would like to go alone since it's the last dance for this year"
after she finishes saying that, her eyes landed on Kiyoung and saw the hurt on his face and the disappointment on the other guy's face. within the silence, she walked off into the hallway and into her locker.
she puts her lunch bags into the locker and sighed as footsteps comes from behind her.
"yaahhh, that was awesome!" Kiyoung said as he lean onto the locker that was located next to hers. he was lying as he felt some real rejection from her earlier. by so, he was glad that he didn't take the risk of asking her to go with him but at the same time was pretty sad about it.
from his compliments, she didn't exactly knew how he felt or how to react to it. instead she probably thought he would have feel the same way the other guy did yesterday when getting rejected.
"i'm going to class early, I have an exam today. i'll see you tonight at the dance" she said and then loop around him and started walking away.
before she turned the corner and him not taking another shot, he asked, "i'll come pick you up later then?" this time he expected nothing but a plain no from her since he somewhat already got rejected.
she turned back and smiled widely with her gummy smile flashing, "sounds good!" and turned the corner waving at him. she was really a mood brighter. with that reply, he wanted to make tonight fun and a dream come true.
