Please, send requests about the other three, or you'll only have CALUM FANFICs which I'm sure you all want to read, but let's be honest, we need the others too.
I think I have all the requests complete, beside a Calum - muggers one. That one was almost complete, but I lost it when my computer broke and now I can't manage to write it again, so... I am sorry, but it might take a while.
--> Where Calum misses the first two band practices with the new drummer. On the third, he closes himself in Michael's room, and Ashton doesn't understand what is going on.
Ashton was happy with this new band.
When Michael first contacted him on Facebook, Ashton thought he was just some weird younger kid wanting to waste time. He didn't know why he accepted his offer to meet up and play a couple of songs together, maybe having had a fight with his former bandmates the previous night played a big role in it. Anyway, Michael and Luke were nice and way too talented in Ashton's opinion.
What he couldn't understand was why they weren't looking for a new bassist, since the one they claimed to have hadn't shown up the two times Ashton rehashed with them, which means that he ditched them at least that two times.
The first time it happened, Ashton was too shy question it, it was his first day after all. Michael simply said the bassist had to football practice. It wasn't suspicious until the second band practice, when the bassist was missing again. Luke was the one who asked where he was and Michael simply said he had a check up. Now, why would they set up a practice if he had an already booked check up? Why didn't they change the time of rehearsals when he remembered he couldn't make it? That made Ashton quite concerned.
What made him even more suspicious anyway was Luke's embarrassed, "Oh yeah. Right." and the fact that they dropped the subject just like that.
Ashton still didn't speak up though. Even if he had already decided that he liked Luke and Michael enough to quit with his former band, he knew the band wouldn't have any chance if one member was constantly ditching them. Besides songs sounded awkward without a bass and when Michael tried to play it, it was awful.
So, when the day of the third band practice came around, Ashton had set up his mind: if the bassist didn't show up again, he was ready to drop the bomb. "Either we find a new bassists or I'm out," he whispered to himself. Michael and Luke were good, but not that good.
But then, the bassist was there.
He was sitting right next to Luke on the couch. He was a petite guy, way slimmer than Michel and Luke. He had different and darker colors and plump lips that Ashton couldn't stop staring at. His shy smile made Ashton regret thinking bad about him. He was kind of adorable.
The kid stood up, offering Ashton his hand, with a timid, "I'm Calum."
"Ashton," Ashton replied. He wanted to be mad, but he couldn't, not when the boy was giving him the cutest apologetic smile Ashton had ever seen.
"Now that we are done with greetings and all, can we start?" Michael said cheerful. "I promise, Cal: Ash is good."
Michael looked excited and Ashton had this weird feeling that he couldn't wait to show Ashton to the bassist. He was sort of expecting it to be the other way around, that Calum was the one on trial. But it wasn't true at all. Michael wanted Calum's opinion on Ashton and that didn't feel right to Ashton.
Calum picked Luke's guitar from him, sitting back on his spot. He cracked his knuckles and played the first chords of 'The A team'. Luke hummed along but Calum was the one who actually started singing.
