Friar Lawrence's POV
With only Huey, Webby, Launchpad, Gyro, Tess, and Evan at the lab, things were weird. Huey and Webby were just talking to each other and playing random things as they waited, Evan spent time with Launchpad, trying to get closer to him by talking about their interests, etc, which left Tess to awkwardly sit in silence with Gyro as he worked on something.
She felt awkward sitting there, so Tess decided to ask the first thing that came to her head. "What do you think happened to everyone else? Like... do you think they're okay?"
Tess was worried about her friends, as well as Fenton and Louie. She feared something bad may have happened, so she hoped that her fears were nothing to worry about.
"I assume they'll be alright. They'll be here soon enough, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about." Gyro nodded, his back still turned away from her. A question did cross her mind, and although she didn't think she should have asked it, it just slipped out.
"Are you worried about Brynne?" The question seemed to catch his attention, because he stopped his work and froze, stammering to find an answer.
The door of the elevator made a clanging sound and the two of them looked at it hopefully. Fenton, Dewey, and Michael stepped into the lab, covered in dirt and plants.
Tess hopped off the table and ran down to give Fenton a hug. She held him tightly, not noticing the blush forming on his beak. "I'm so glad you're not dead!" She exclaimed, looking at Dewey and Michael saying, "You guys too..."
Michael looked around the lab and thought it seemed kinda empty. "Where is everyone?" She asked, raising a brow, waiting for a reply.
"Oh, uh, Brynne and Kaitlyn are still missing, so everyone who went out to find them are still gone. Well, except Marshall, who's just been wandering around for a while without anything to do." Tess explained with a smile spread across her face.
"Wasn't Marshall supposed to get Brynne though?" Emily asked, joining the conversation. Michael and Tess nodded before realizing that their friend was stuck without any help.
"Oh, Mark said she called him to find her and bring her back..." Michael shrugged, looking at his phone. "She'll be here soon enough. No word on Kaitlyn though."
"I guess the only thing we can do for now is wait, huh?"
