[the show Lucifer + attached song is what made me want to write this]

Louis stood by the front counter, waiting on all the people passing through. He worked at a local diner, representing it with an all black outfit and purple apron. During the day lots of families came in, but at night it was generally men. Louis hated working night shifts.

To many older men, Louis was a fun toy. He was small- standing only about 5'4- with a slim figure and curves hips. His voice was higher than most twenty one year old men, giving off a girly sound. It didn't help either that his cheeks were a rosy red and lips a pink color, soft blue eyes adorned by long lashes. Louis' lacked in the facial hair department, making him look even more feminine. Louis didn't mind it, really. He enjoyed the girlish features because it made him feel pretty.

However, he wished he looked different around the men dining in late at night. They all joked around and teased him, calling him names like 'girlie' and 'Louise'. Some of the men tried to flirt with Louis, but would do rude things like cat call and whistle to get his attention. If he was being honest, some nights he would come in with a little bit of make up and sway his hips more so the men would tip even better. Then he'd feel guilty immediately after. Louis didn't like being objectified. He wanted to be more than just something to look at.

But whatever it takes to pay the bills, right?

The blue eyed boy collected his last tip of the night, seeing as though it was midnight meaning his shift was over, and made his way to the back room. That's where lockers were located for employees to put their belongings in. Louis wanted to be in bed as soon as possible, so he quickly changed his non-slip work shoes for worn out Converse and threw them into the locker. As he began to untie the back of his apron, his friend who also worked at the diner strolled in.

"Oh hey Lou!"

"Hi, Matty."

Louis always thought the boy was cute- sort of like a little work crush. Matthew was only a bit taller than Louis, with messy blond hair and big brown eyes. He wore glasses with thin black frames. Freckles scattered over his face and arms. He was quite clumsy too, but it was adorable in an awkward sort of way.

"Heading out, I see." Matthew leaned against a random locker. "I missed you today- was bombarded with orders in the kitchen and couldn't visit you at the counter."

Louis grinned, fiddling with a knot in the apron, "It's alright, don't worry. I was kinda busy too, with it being Friday night."

The taller worker pointed, "Are you having trouble getting out of that? Here, let me help."

Louis nodded and turned around. Matthew stepped close to Louis' back. His gentle hands began to untie the knot. When he finished, he leaned in close and pulled the top half from Louis' neck. Louis blushed at the close proximity as he felt Matthew lightly against his back and saw the outstretched arms over his shoulders.

"All done." He said when Louis grabbed the purple fabric.

Louis hoped his cheeks were no longer red and turned around, "Thank you."

Matthew pushed his hands into his pockets. "Hey, so I was thinking that maybe we could hangout again soon. There's this new glow in the dark night club in the city. I know it sounds childish, but-"

"No it doesn't." The blue eyed boy scolded. "I would love to go! Maybe we'll bring the after party to your place like we did last time."

"Oh god," the coworker groaned dramatically, "my house was absolutely trashed the next day. Never again."

Louis chuckled. Louis loved that they were close enough to hangout whenever and tease each other. They had such a wholesome friendship.
