"Why do you need to run errands at six in the morning?"
The following morning, Cas and Jack were packing up Baby in the garage to go on what Cas referred to as an "emergency errand run". As they loaded everything up, Dean argued with them endlessly.
"We're going to find some recruits for the fight. Training these thirty demons isn't going to be enough." Cas said tiredly, shutting the door and facing Dean. "We'll be back in a couple days. Can you handle the girls?"
Dean frowned and nodded. "We'll be fine here." He said grumpily.
Cas rolled his eyes. "Don't be so grumpy."
Dean glared. "I'm not grumpy."
Cas smiled a little, pulling him in for a quick hug. "Don't blow the damn bunker up while I'm gone."
Dean pulled away and pointed at him. "Don't mess my fucking car up."
"I'll only spill a little bit of blood on the seats." Cas assured him, opening the driver's seat and awkwardly maneuvering himself in. Dean keeps the seat way too far back.
Dean leaned into the window. "Don't even joke about that."
Cas checked to make sure Jack was buckled, then started the car. "You're a drama queen."
"So are you." Dean said. "See you soon."
Cas turned and smiled at him. "See you."
Dean smiled fondly, pressing a quick kiss to Cas' temple and standing back to let them drive out. It wasn't until after Cas had started driving down the driveway that they both realized what happened. Cas felt his cheeks burn as he turned to look at Jack, who was staring at him in shock. Cas finally cleared his throat and spoke up. "Did he...?"
"Kiss you? Yeah."
Cas nodded and focused back on the road. "Cool." He choked out.
Jack couldn't help but laugh. "I have to be honest; you guys are cute."
"I'm not cute, Jack. I am an ancient and divine seraphim with the power of a thousand suns and the mercilessness of a god."
"You're adorable."
"You're grounded."
As they rolled down a shady backroad, Jack finally noticed he had no idea what the plan was. "Where are we going again?"
Cas cleared his throat. "We are going to a small town near Dallas, Texas called Hico for some supplies. Then we are going to Portland, Oregon."
"Why Portland?" Asked Jack.
Castiel thought for a moment. "Do you know who James Bond is?" Jack nodded. "He's a spy. He finds out secret information for the bad guy and tells it to the good guy." He looked over to make sure Jack was following. "We are going to Portland to be spies."
It dawned on Jack what he meant. "You mean, we're going to spy on the angels? How?"
"Rowena." Rowena Macleod was a witch, for those of you who don't know. She's the most powerful witch in history. Her past with the Winchesters is a bit murky, but they're trusted allies now. She's died a couples time, as one does in this business. But her access to the Book of the Damned has offered her unimaginable spells and curses that she could never have dreamed of. She's been more than useful these past few years.
"How can Rowena help us?" Jack asked curiously.
Cas braced himself. "Remember when she turned you into a dog?"
