𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝟵 ━━ THE REAL DEAL.
"SO, how long are we gonna wait for the CD to load?" Aella blandly stated. She leaned against the door frame as she watched Carol's eyes focus on the computer screen.
"It's almost . . . done."Maria trailed off as the blue loading bar in the completion bar almost finished to load. The tip of her tongue clicking against the roof of her mouth as she stretched out to reach to press play when ready.
The audio began to play. Hearing Carol's voice through the speakers, Aella's attention started to rise again causing goosebumps on her skin. It was like a melody in her ears. Hearing one of her favorite people talk as if it was a song. She shouldn't be feeling some way about Carol, Aella could barely describe the memorable feeling.
"Punch in the coordinates: Five, two-two, nine. Negative four, seven. Copy that?" An older woman spoke from the player.
"Where are we going, Doc?" Carol questioned the woman.
"To my laboratory."
"To your laboratory? What do you mean?" Hearing Carol from six years ago, she looked up at the blonde sitting in the seat in front of the computer. Surprised to see that Carol was already looking at her, she playfully stuck out her tongue. Earning a small giggle from Carol's lips.
"Oh God. What is that? It's not showing up on my radar!" Carol now beginning to panic.
"Slide, Carol! They're the bad guys, just keep pushing!" The woman with Carol yelled. Aella imagining the stress both of them was under in that very moment.
Seconds turned into minutes after hearing the end of the CD. The room under deafening silence as everyone's attention was brought onto Carol. Shaking her head, the blonde immediately walked out of the room, and went into the backyard instead.
Aella the first one to walk out of the room as she saw Carol pacing back and forth. "They lied to me. Everything that I knew was a lie!"
"And, now you know." Talos spoke up, brushing past Aella on the steps. "You understand."
"What? What am I supposed to understand?" Carol fiercely replied. Her posture slightly more tense.
"Yon-Rogg killed Mar-vell. She knew that she was on the wrong side of an unjust war."
"No. Your people are terrorists. They kill innocents. I saw the ruins on Torfah!"
