A/N I'M ALIVE. I KNOW. WOW. IM JUST INCREDIBLY LAZY BUT NOW IM ON HOLIDAY AGAIN AND HAVE NEW RESOLVE SO YEAH. HI.

I sat in the lecture hall, next to my friend Laila. On the other side of me sat Percy Jackson. He was the school's star swimmer (I think he went to the Olympics) and Professor Morgen's favourite student, because he is fluent in Ancient Greek. I didn't really like him, but I also didn't really know him, so I couldn't pass judgement. I stared out through the window, lost in thought as Professor Morgen went on and on about ancient myths and beliefs. I only started paying attention when she announced a project. "I will pair you up," she was saying, "and you will report back to me on an important section of Ancient Greek beliefs. All of your evidence must be translated by you - no google. I will expect to see the original extracts. So..." Professor Morgen opened the old leather notebook that she never went anywhere without, and started reading out names. I didn't really listen to her, until I heard my name. "Mark Jameson and Percy Jackson."

Great.

But she didn't let anyone talk or start making plans until the end of the lecture. When Professor Morgen was finally finished, she picked up her things and left, and the lecture hall descended into utter chaos. Luckily, Percy was already right next to me, so I didn't have to find him.

"Hey dude. Do you wanna come round to mine, after school, and we can work on the project then? I'll give you my address." he asked. I nodded, and he ripped some paper out of his notebook, quickly scribbling down his address. I took it from him, folded it, and shoved it in my pocket. A slightly awkward silence descended, until Percy suddenly looked up. "What's the time?" he said. I shrugged. I never wore a watch because I always lost them. I turned to Laila, and she pulled her phone out to check.

"2.45" she announced. Percy shot straight upwards and started throwing things into his backpack.

"Annabeth's gonna kill me." he muttered, and then sprinted for the door. Once he was gone, Laila turned towards me, a look of pure joy etched on her face.

"Mark!" she squealed. "You got Percy! You guys have to become best friends! And then I can hang out with you two and we can all be really close and then he'll like me back and then - "

"Laila." I cut her off. When Laila went off on these tangents and extra-convoluted plans, it was hard to get her to stop. "I'm not gonna make friends with the guy just so you can date him." She sighed, and we both stood up, putting away our notebooks and pens. I moved to leave, but curiosity got the better of me. "Who's Annabeth?" I asked.

Laila visibly deflated. "His girlfriend." she whispered.

"What?" I asked, less because I couldn't hear, and more because it would annoy her.

"His girlfriend!" she repeated, much louder, and stuck out her tongue. I smiled and walked away.

I hopped off the bus, and walked the thirteen minutes it took to reach Percy's house from the bus stop. When I got there, I forced myself to check the address he'd written down for me. When it was right, I looked up again, and took it all in. His house wasn't a house, it was a mansion. It was massive, sea green, blue and grey, old fashioned but modern, and so much more. But I forced myself to walk up to the front door and knock.

The first thing I heard was shouting. Lots of voices piled on top of one another making lots of noise. "Sorry." said the girl who had answered the door. "My cousin is staying."

"Don't worry about - " I stopped talking when I looked at her. The girl had wavy blonde hair and stormy gray eyes, tanned skin and a 'don't mess with me' look on her face. But she was smiling, and it made me relax. " - it" I managed to choke out. She laughed and led me inside.

"I'm Annabeth. I'm guessing you're Mark?". The second she finished speaking, another voice echoed through the house.

"MAGNUS CHASE! IF YOU DON'T GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW, I SWEAR TO ODIN I WILL GET THE ENTIRETY OF FLOOR NINETEEN TO TRY AND KILL YOU THE NEXT TIME WE BATTLE!"

A young man, around sixteen or seventeen, dressed all in pink and green, stormed through the corridor and towards the stairs.

"Alex!" Annabeth shouted. The man turned to look at her, and a sheepish grin spread along his face. "We have a guest! Do you have any idea where Seaweed Brain is?" Alex shrugged, but then Percy appeared, pulling on his swim team hoodie, with his dark hair all messed up.

"Hi! Hi, I'm here now." He successfully pulled his hoodie over his head and gently kissed Annabeth. "Oh! Mark! You're here. Is it five already?" I nodded awkwardly, and another head appeared on the staircase.

"Hi!" the blonde haired boy said. He looked the same age as Alex, and I guessed from context that he was the boy Alex had been shouting at. "I'm Magnus. Chase. Annabeth's cousin. You're Mark, right? Percy's friend?" I didn't want to nod again, because I already had so many times. So I just said:

"Yes."

"Cool." Percy said. "Now you've met everyone, so we can actually work."

"Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said incredulously, "wanting to work? Di immortales!"

Everyone laughed, and I felt like I was missing out on some big inside joke.

"We are done!" I shouted, wrapping up the final sentence of the project.

"Thank the Gods!" Percy said, leaning back in his chair and stretching his arms. Curiosity got the better of me, again, and I couldn't help but ask.

"What is the set-up here?"

Percy frowned, his features easily knitting into a confused look, like it was a daily occurrence.

"As in, you live here with you girlfriend? In this massive house?"

"Well, Annabeth designed it, so of course she lives here."

"She designed it?" I tried to brush past that fact. "And where are your parents, man? And hers?" He shrugged.

"Annabeth's dad lives in San Francisco with her step-mom and brothers. My mom and step-dad live here, in New York, but in their own apartment."

"How can you afford this place?" I asked. It was massive, and neither sets of parents lived there?

"Well, my dad and Annabeth's mom were never really around, so they sort of... funded this?"

"Yuh huh. Okay. I've got it. Super rich absentee parents who felt kind of guilty so basically bought you guys off. But it's so big, and it's just you two?"

"And a lot of other people. Magnus and Alex haven't stayed before, but there's normally at least two other people here with us. Our best friend Grover and his girlfriend, or Thalia and Reyna, or Piper and Jason (A/N : in this, Jason was brought back to life after he died, and yes, Reyna and Thalia are hunters), and sometimes Leo and Calypso. And others. It's never empty."

"Wow." I said. "Sounds pretty nice."

A/N: I'm sorry. I mean, sort of? Like I doubt you guys missed me. But I have a question. It might seem strange. How are your lu- nope, no Dodie, calm down self. How do you guys say Di Immortales? Cause when I first read the books I pronounced it like 'di immortals' but now i say it like 'di immortalez' so I wanna know which is right
