Chapter 4: Hogwarts express

It was the first of September and Harry Potter was leaving 12 Grimmwald Place to go to Hogwarts for his fifth year. If he was honest with himself he was a little nervous about finding his mate, but at least he'll have his best friends Ron and Hermione with him. By the time he finished packing it was time to go to platform 9 3/4.

Harry headed downstairs to see that sna- his father was already there waiting to take him to the station. He made a mental note to himself that he needs to remember to call snape father instead when they're not in class/school.

"You ready harry?" Said his father.

"Of course" Said harry.

"Now remember the longer you go without finding your mate the weaker you'll become. Also come to me every full moon" Said snape with a voice of concern mixed with strictness.

"Yes I know. Now can we go back to Hogwarts" Said harry with a hint of excitement in his voice.

"Okay. We're arriving by apparatition. Let's go" Harry's father said.

When they arrived at the station they were greeted with shocked looks by everyone because it was common knowledge that the two disliked each other. Not soon after they arrived did rumours break out within the students of Hogwarts about why the two arrived together.

"Now harry come and tell me who your mate is once you find him. Now go to your friends, I'll see you later" Snape said.

"Alright, see you later professor" Harry said with a smirk on his face. Snape just glared at him and walked away with his black robes bellowing behind him.

As harry was walking along the train trying to find the compartment that his friends were in he smelt the most delightful smell, that must mean that who ever that smell belongs to it was his mate. As quickly as that smell came it disappeared within minutes. Harry soon found his friends with a look of disappointment on his face. As soon as he walked in Hermione looked up from the book and asks him what was wrong.

"I smelt my mate but before I could see who the smell belonged to it disappeared again" Harry said with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Don't worry mate. I'm sure you'll find out who your mate is at the feast." Ron said.

"Your right Ron. Anyway how was your summers?" Harry asked them.

"Mine was great my parents took me to Paris for a couple weeks at the start of summer but other than that not a lot" Hermione said.

"I spent the holidays doing chores around the house and playing quidditch with my siblings but other than that not much. What about you mate?" Ron said.

"You know how mine are. They're always the same but when I went to Grimmwald Place at the end of the summer as you know was when I found out that Snape of all people was my father and that I'm a werewolf." Said harry.

"At least you know the truth as to why he was so terrible to you before now and besides you have a mate. I wonder who it could be?" Said Hermione always the positive one and always the one to see reason.

"Yeah I do to but I do hope it's someone who will like me for me instead of just being with me because I'm the bloody boy who lived" Said harry with bitterness in his voice at the last part.

" I'm sure whoever it is will grow to love you for you" Said Hermione trying to lighten the mood and to cheer up harry.

"I hope your right" Harry said.

"I know Hermione is always right and when you do find him please tell us who it is. So we can be there for you and your mate no matter who it is" Said Ron.

"Thanks that means a lot Ron. I'm glad you two will be there for me and my mate. I just hope that the school doesn't find anything out about my inheritance and about snape" Said harry with a look of hopefulness and determination to keep these things private.

"You know how much everyone is interested in you and your life, you'll be lucky to keep who your mate is a secret from the entire school. Also you know that every year something happens" said Ron.

"Just wishful thinking Ron. We can never have a normal year can we" harry asked his friends.

"No I don't think we can. Remember first year with the stone and then second year with the chamber. Third year was fairly normal and then fourth year with the tri wizard tournament" Said Hermione.

"As I was saying I wonder what will happen this year apart from me finding my mate" Said harry.

"We'll have to wait and see" Said Ron.

For the rest of the train ride the three friends talked about light hearted topics. What harry didn't know was that his friends had a bet on about who his mate was. Hermione said it would be Malfoy considering how obsessed they've been with each other since day one, but Ron thinks it will be someone from Gryffindor.
