The golden trio were sat at the Gryrffindor table in the great hall of Hogwarts waiting for the first years to be sorted. Harry was looking around the hall to see if he could find his mate, when he glanced up at the teachers table he saw a women dressed in an alarming shape of pink. When Dumbledore stood to make his welcoming feast the hall fell into complete silence awaiting to see what the old man had to say.
"Welcome everyone to a new school year. Now as you know last years Defence against the dark arts teacher was and is a death eater the ministry of magic thought it best to find someone suitable for the job. But I want you all to know happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn in the light. With no further ado let me introduce our new defence against the dark arts teacher professor Umbridge" Said Dumbledore.
When the headmaster introduced her the pink lady stood and everyone made a half hearted welcome to her. As the students began talking with friends the food appeared and everyone tucked into the food. Harry, Ron and Hermione piled their plates with food as they tucked in harry caught a whiff of his mates scent. He swivelled around in his seat to try and get a look at who his mate is, but before he could place where it came from it disappeared once again.
Hermione being the know it all she is noticed Harry's gaze scanning around the grate hall frantically looking for a hint as to who his mate was. Hermione saw his slightly distressed facial expression and decided to speak.
"You'll find him Harry" Hermione spoke softly so no other nosey gryfindor's would over hear.
"I know 'mione but I just can't help thinking that they'll only accept me because of who I am" Harry said with a sad expression on his face.
"Well if they do do that then they'll grow to love you. I mean who wouldn't fall in love with you. Your charming, kind, caring and always put people before yourself and if they don't then they're a fool." Said Hermione.
"Thanks you always know what to say" Harry said.
Once they finished eating the trio left the great hall to head to their common room but as they started waking Harry got a whiff of his mates scent. Not wanting to lose a chance to discover who it is he follows it with a quick goodbye to his friends. As he takes twists and turns and down stair cases he eventually came to the entrance of the Slytherin dorms.
