It was spring break and Delaney was helping Winnie snap beans and shuck corn. The boys except Aaron who was at a friend's house was working at the shop. James was in the barn working on things to get ready for spring time. They were enjoying the quiet Delaney loved being out there more than her house and her dad didn't mind it made him feel better when he worked long hours at the hospital.
Winnie and her were sitting on the back porch when the heard a loud crash sound. They both went running down to the barn. Delaney saw James gasping for air "Oh no.." Winnie said
Delaney pulled her phone out and called 911 cause Winnie couldn't stop crying. Delaney kept her two fingers on his wrist and whispering "You gotta fight James."
The EMTs quickly went into action Bucky pulled in "What's going on." he said
"What ...how did you know.." Delaney said
I saw the ambulance drive by the shop..I just had this feeling that something was wrong with dad." he said
"Come on baby..we will go together..'okay." Delaney said
They got in her jeep and went to the hospital. Once they got there Bucky started to pace "I told him to wait till I got home this afternoon to start."
Delaney sat there and let him vent to her and his mom. "Honey you know that your daddy is a stubborn old man who doesn't like when someone tells him no." Winnie said
The cardiologist Dr Taylor said "Winnie.. little James. I'm sorry but his heart couldn't take much more. We have tried to get him back but he's gone. He suffered another one while on the table. We had to recussitate him three times."
Bucky broke down as he hugged Delaney as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Shh baby..." she whispered as she hugged him. The boys came in with Rebecca "Mama" Rebecca said
"I'm sorry baby..one of your brothers will have ...to give you away this summer...your daddy is gone my babies.." Winnie said
Two days later Delaney held Bucky's hand at the funeral service after the service was over Bucky pulled her into the bathroom. Bucky had been taking everything out on her through sex. The next day they were all at the lawyer's office to figure out James' estate.
"Okay two years ago when James had his first heart attack he came to see me he had 5 individual envelopes addressed to Rebecca Ann, Ryder James, Mason James, James Buchanan and Aaron James. He said to tell you five that in each of those notes is letters addressed you individually. Now that being said he came in here a few weeks ago and said that he wanted to make some changes to his will. He's leaving the farm to you 5 to do with what you may with it but you have to agree to it as one. The house is left to your mother. As far as the Auto Shop goes it's left to you 4 boys to decide how you want to continue the family business." George Wilson said then he opened up another envelope "This is to go to you James" he said as he hands him the envelope.
He looked in it and he saw another letter addressed to him and ring box and a set of keys. "What are these to?' he said
"Read the note to find out." George said
That night after Delaney was asleep he opened up the first note
"James Buchanan,
I know this will be the hardest on you then the others son..we were the closest. I know that you hurting son but just know that I love you and I'm proud of the young man that you are becoming. I know you are going to do great things remember everything that I taught you son regarding life love and football. Take care of your mama and little brother son and I will see you soon. -Dad"
He opened up the other letter
"James that ring box was left to you by Grandma she said that she knew from the moment she seen you with Delaney that she was meant to have her rings for you to propose to her. She also left you her house which is what the keys are for. She's leaving you her land and house to you son. Love you..Dad"
Bucky opened the ring box and shook his head "Oh grandma Sophia." he said
The next morning Rebecca found Bucky at his grandma's barn fixing her tractor while Delaney was at cheer practice. "James." Becca said
"Yeah Becca" he said
"I want you to give me away at my wedding this summer." Becca said
He smiled at his big sister and said "Okay yeah" as tears welled his eyes then he hugged her. "Love you Becca." he said
"Love you" she said then she left and he got on the tractor and started to clean up his grandmother's farm.
Delaney seen him about an hour later no shirt on tanned and sweaty. She was biting her lip and he hoped down after turning it off. "Hey gorgeous how was practice." he said then she put her lips on him. "mmm baby mmm." he tried to get out but then they fell on to the ground she tried get his pants undone.
"Let me help.. damn baby what the hell has gotten into you." he said then she slid down on him and started to bounce till he spilled in her. "Okay now that we have that out of the way baby..care to enlighten me why you just attacked me. Not that I'm complaining" he said
"You looking so fucking sexy..all sweaty and tan shirtless on a tractor..just sent me into over drive." she said
"Oh yeah " he said as he kissed her
"Mmhm" she said
"Now you know how I feel when I watch you cheer in a sexy uniform doing all those toe heel stretches and showing off how flexible you are." he said as he kissed her again.
