OUR dear mother is dead.
We weren't even there for her.
She was alone when she died... We deserve the same. We're the worst, aren't we, Izuku?
Izuku was devastated to learn of his mother's passing and broke down into a ball on his room's floor, sobbing hysterically. The message played over and over in his head, a relentless echo of his worst nightmare come true.
He was utterly shattered, feeling an overwhelming emptiness that seemed impossible to fill. The last words he had shared with her now felt like cruel reminders of what he would never have again.
He had an overwhelming feeling of abandonment, alone in a world devoid of meaning.
Izuku grasped the doorknob, "It doesn't matter anymore... Atleast, I don't."

Tenya slammed the door open and was greeted with a cold breeze. As he approached the hallways, he couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that something was wrong. The moment he stepped inside, the stillness and silence were palpable.
"I have to find Midoriya," He thought, and immediately made his way to Izuku's room.
When Tenya reached Izuku's door, he hoped he was simply asleep, and he didn't really want to disturb him... but he had to see if he was in there. This nagging feeling won't stop 'til he sees him.
He then knocked gently, "Midoriya? Are you in there?" He received no response. The silence on the other side of the door was deafening.
Worry gnawed at him, and he knocked again, more urgently this time. "Midoriya, it's me, Iida. I've, um, got released off the hospital quite early. Please, open the door. I need to talk to you."
Nothing.
Panic began to set in, "Midoriya...? I'm not mad at you, so please, answer me..."
Still nothing.
Tenya took a deep breath, bracing himself as he opened the door.
The room was empty.
The bed was unmade, the room in disarray, but Izuku was nowhere to be found. Tenya's heart raced. Where could he be?
He looked around the room for any clues, for any information. His gaze rested on the open window, and a shiver raced down his spine. He knew that Izuku was struggling, but he had no idea how bad his situation was. He could only think of one place to look: the rooftop.
Tenya ran through the corridors, his footsteps echoing as he dashed up the stairs to the roof. His thoughts was racing with anxiety and fear.
"Please be okay, Midoriya. Please be okay," he told himself, a frantic litany against the mounting terror.
Tenya burst onto the rooftop and saw Izuku standing barely near to the edge, his back turned, peering into the nothingness.
"Midoriya!" Tenya shouted, his voice raw with fear. Izuku didn't move, his shoulders trembling with silent sobs.
"Midoriya, please, step away from the edge," He pleaded, slowly approaching his friend. "Please don't do this! We can talk about this. I'm here for you."
The green-haired boy turned slightly, his eyes hollow and filled with tears, lacking their usual glow of assurance and cheerfulness. "I'm a nobody, Iida. I've damaged you permanently. I've made everyone worry. I even made Todoroki-kun feel worthless. And now...my mom is gone. I'm such a burden."
Tenya's heart broke at the sight of his friend in such agony. "I'm sorry... for not being there for you, and I'm sorry for your loss... But, you are not alone, Midoriya! And I don't care about my eye, I care about you more than anything! If you think nobody's there for you, You have me."
Izuku shook his head, his voice barely a whisper. "You don't understand. I'm insane! I hear things that don't even exist!" He cried, almost laughing, "Those murmurs... Those knocks..."
"It's alright, Midoriya!" He shouted, "Let's go through it together. Let's help you heal from this! But that would only happen if you don't jump, please."
Izuku grasped his chest. Yes! He's hesitating.
Tenya took another cautious step forward, his eyes never leaving Izuku. "Midoriya, your mom wouldn't want you to be like this. She would want you to live, to continue being the hero she believed in. You have so much potential, so much to offer. We all see it, even if you don't right now."
The words appeared to reach Izuku, and for a minute, the anguish in his eyes subsided. Tenya dared to think that he was reaching him.
But just then, the entrance to the rooftop sprang open, and Shoto Todoroki emerged on the scene, his eyes wild with panic.
"Izuku!" Shoto yelled, stunning the both of them.
In that split second of distraction, Izuku took a step back, his foot slipping over the edge. Tenya lunged forward, but he was too slow.
Izuku began to fall, the wind whipping past him as he plummeted downward.
"No!" Shoto yelled. Without a second thought, he thrust his hand out, using his quirk to create a massive slide of ice beneath his friend. The slide slowed Izuku's descent, preventing the fatal fall.
Izuku fell hard on the ice hill and slid to an a halt. Shoto and Tenya rushed down to reach him. Izuku lay there, crying hysterically, his body filled with pain and misery.
Izuku gazed up at them, his cheeks smeared with tears. "Why did you have to save me?" he said, his voice full of agony and despair.
Shoto knelt alongside him, his words hoarse with emotion. "Izuku, why?! What were you thinking? Why... Why am I always not enough? Why couldn't you tell me all of those before..."
"I don't deserve you, Iida-kun... And especially you, Todoroki-kun," The green-haired boy murmured, his voice filled with self-loathing. "How could you even care for someone like me? Why didn't you get tired of trying to feed me? Why haven't you grown tired of my silence, of me ignoring you? How could you still think of me?"
"Please, Izuku. Let me be there for you," Shoto pleaded, his gaze fixed on his empty friend. Memories of their joint training haunted him; he hadn't been there for him. Now, faced with Izuku's attempt to end his life, he feared he might arrive too late.
"I don't want to fail you again, not this time."
