TENYA awoke in a disorienting daze. Where was he? The room around him was overwhelmingly bright, everything bathed in stark white light. It felt like he was in an asylum, but in truth, it was just a hospital room.
The room was enveloped in an eerie silence, its whiteness amplifying the stillness. Every small movement he made seemed deafening in the quiet. He was alone, with only his thoughts for company. Why was he here anyway?
Suddenly, a sharp sting shot through both his leg and eye, catching him off guard and eliciting a pained groan. The sensation jolted him, bringing back memories of the incident he had momentarily forgotten.
Despite the intensity of the pain, he realized with a sense of detachment that he hadn't been paying much attention to his own well-being. The wounds, both physical and emotional, were significant, yet he couldn't muster the concern he knew he should have for his own recovery.
"How many days have I been out?" he wondered aloud, his voice barely more than a whisper.
He turned to look out the window and noticed the trees adorned with delicate pink and white petals. Cherry blossom season. It must have been at least a few days for the trees to have bloomed so fully. The sight was a bittersweet reminder of the time he had lost while confined to this sterile room.
"The cherry blossoms have already bloomed... I've been out for days, haven't I? Still..." he pondered, "This sight is beautiful. Midoriya and the others would definitely want to see this..." Then, realization struck. "Midoriya!"
He swiftly reached for his phone, his fingers tapping urgently as he checked the date. Relief washed over him—it had only been 2 or 3 days since the incident. Instantly, Izuku entered his mind. Tenya knew how Midoriya's mind worked; he understood that Izuku would likely blame himself.
Opening the group chat of Class 1A, he was overcome with worry. The chat was eerily silent; the latest message dated back to before the joint training. Had something happened, or worse, was nothing happening at all? Perhaps they were avoiding chatting there because of Izuku's presence? Would it seem insensitive to carry on chatting casually, pretending everything was normal when one of their classmates clearly wasn't in the right place mentally?
He decided to pierce this silence.

Tenya waited anxiously, surrounded by the late-night silence. He didn't expect an immediate reply, but his curiosity about what was happening back at the dorms kept him waiting, hoping someone would eventually respond.
