| UA High |
SHOTO and Tenya wandered through the quiet halls of UA High on a Saturday afternoon. Their search for their Izuku led them first to his empty dorm room. Concern etched on their faces, they then checked other familiar spots around the campus.
"He's not in the common room either," Tenya said, his voice tinged with worry. "Do you think he went outside?"
Shoto shook his head. "I don't think so... at least, I hope. Let's check one more place."
Their footsteps echoed softly as they made their way to their classroom. To their surprise, they found Izuku sitting alone inside, a place typically deserted on weekends.
Shoto exchanged a puzzled glance with Tenya before gently pushing open the unlocked door.
"Midoriya-kun... How were you able to unlock the door?" The blue-haired student asked softly, sensing the weight that hung on Izuku's shoulders.
Izuku ignored the question and looked up, his eyes dull and weary. "I just... wanted to be alone," he murmured, his gaze fixed on the floor.
The two exchanged a knowing look.
"We're here for you, Midoriya-kun," Tenya said firmly, "We now know about the knocks and murmurs you've been hearing. We get it..."
Izuku flinched, the truth heavy in his heart. "I thought... I thought I was going crazy," he confessed, his voice cracking with emotion. "But it was her, wasn't it? My mom."
Shoto nodded, "We believe you, Izuku. I believe in you since then."
Izuku's shoulders trembled as he fought to hold back his tears. "I hated thinking I was losing my mind," he whispered. "But realizing it was her all along... it hurts even more. Why did I think of her in a bad light like that? Blaming insanity?"
Tenya took a step closer, "Come with us, Midoriya-kun. We have something to show you."
With a shared determination, Shoto and Tenya managed to persuade Izuku to join them outside. They knew the isolated environment was never going to help their friend avoid the dreadful thoughts.
They led him to a tranquil spot by the lake near UA, where cherry blossoms bloomed in delicate shades of pink. The sight was breathtaking, the petals dancing in the gentle breeze.
Izuku's eyes widened as he realized the season had changed without his notice. "Cherry blossoms," he murmured, a hint of wonder in his voice.
Tenya smiled, "I only noticed it recently myself. When I was in the hospital, I saw them bloom."
Izuku's expression darkened momentarily, guilt tugging at his heart. The hospital... He was there because he hurt him.
"I'm sorry, Iida-kun," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "You're now half-blind... because of me... I'm such a terrible fri-"
