The cold cruel winter is beneath us both

You don't want everything handed to you on a silver platter
Sometimes the future gets the best of you
And you have your fears of what could happen
And you have deja vu

Live till you can't anymore
And to dream for a real future you see for yourself
Live and strive, go out and get it
No matter if everything could go to shit
You and I will make it through no matter what
Don't live your life sticking to a conspiracy
Live free from the stress and the negativity
Because life offers a lot and through the madness is beaut
It starts within
The only real changes come from inside
Through the bad times remember to keep your soul
Remember the pain doesn't last
I know things get rough but remember I'm here for you

This was a piece I wrote to my ex. But we didn't last. I ended it the day I got back to school because shit happens. Red flags were present and I learned that you can't make excuses based on the distance because things could be extremely shady while you're away. But no bad blood. Shit happens, you live, you learn and you grow to make sure you don't let what happened with the person prior carry over to the newfound love in another. 

We are all wonders in the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.

You can erase someone from your mind. Getting them out of your heart is another story.
