Chapter 7: Once The Missing

"Ever since the teacher talked to us about Luca I have been wondering where she went when we last talked to her." Max said to Luna on saturday night during summer break before high school. At this point both Max and Luna were 14. Max was older then Luna though.
"I don't know... for all we now she could be missing." Luna replying to Max.
"Well this has gotten serious. There are wanted signs, and search parties looking all over the place for her. The worst part is that we were the last ones to see her." Max said sitting down next to Luna.
"Well then... Why don't you just leave your parents to me and go be the hero you are. You are the one that scared her off." Luna said to Max.
"But what about you? Will you be alright by yourself here in this house?" Max asked Luna concerned.
Yes I will be fine... You just bring her back to that girls family." Luna said and they kissed each other goodnight and they went to bed.
The next day...
"Hey mom I am going out to look for Luca. Take care of Luna while I'm gone!" Max called to his mom.
"I will dear... Good luck!" Max's mom called to him as he walked out the door. Luna at the top of the stairs watching him leave.
Later that night at 12:00am at the old park...
"Luca it's me Max I am sorry if I scared you off I just needed to tell you the truth. You can be mad at me all you want just come home." Max called to her.
"Just go away!" Luca's voice came from the tree in the center of the park.
"Luca I get that I hurt you, but stalking me all my life is not how you get someone's attention. If you wanted me to acknowledge you for you. Be yourself you don't need to push yourself to do anything. If you were truly yourself  I would probably like you as a friend and not just a whiny brat." Max said to her as she came out from behind the tree.
"Really?" Luca asked.
"Yes. I love Luna but I can grow to like you." Max said
"You know what Max. Even though you love her, you came all this way to bring me back. You care for others no matter what. That's just one of the reasons I will always love you. Even though you love someone else. Just knowing you don't absolutely hate my guts, is enough for me." Luca said standing beside Max.
"Then let me take you home..." Max said "It's the least I could do.
"Ok..." Luca said as Max took her home.
DING DONG
"LUCA IS THAT YOU!" Luca's mom came as she opened to door. "Luca It is you! Charlie come here quick Lucas home. Max brought her back. Luca's home!"
"Max thank you for bringing back my baby girl." Luca's Dad told him.
"No problem. You guys have a nice night!" Max called to him as he was leaving.
"Thank you. Have a good night". Lucas' family called to him as they closed the door. Max walked home that night feeling good that he did something for someone
