Minhyuk, I need to tell you something

Sure, I'll be home in 10 💓

Kihyun put down his phone, his hands were shaking. He knew what he was about to tell his lover wouldn't please him but he felt like he had to. He had been doing a lot of reflecting these days considering his situation and his choices, maybe he just needed time.

The loud bang of the door followed by a "Whoops" echoing from Minhyuk always so excited when he was coming home. "Kihyun?" Minhyuk's voice resonated again in the silent house. "In the room" was all Kihyun said. He was shaking harder than before but was battling himself to keep a composed face, he can't allow himself to show the other he is scared.

"Oh! You're here" Minhyuk entered the room immediately going to hug his boyfriend who did not budge. "Ki, are you okay?" Minhyuk said caressing his lover's cheek. "I need to tell you something" Kihyun let out sternly, pushing away Minhyuk's hand.  "Sure, what is it?" Minhyuk was smiling, his oh so adorable smile that always had Kihyun give in. But not this time, seeing Minhyuk smile hurt his heart.

Kihyun took a deep breath worrying the other "What is it baby?". "I think we should take a break" Kihyun finally spoke. "What" Minhyuk's face changed from happy to confused. "You heard me right Min" "You're joking right?" Kihyun looked down. "Come on Ki, it's not funny" Minhyuk playfully punched the other. "I'm sorry Min" Kihyun said still not daring to look up and meet eyes with the other. Realization hit Minhyuk, Kihyun was not joking. And now the blondie's face was drowned by uncontrollable tears rolling down. "Why" was all he could say. "I just need time, Min-" "Have you met somebody else" Minhyuk asked cutting off the other. "No. Of course not." "I will wait for you" Minhyuk grabbed Kihyun's hand who did not say a thing but simply put his hand away. "Do you still love me" Kihyun looked down "I-I don't know".

Kihyun did not dare to look at Minhyuk exit the room with his face ruined by tears fearing that he would cry too. Seeing him like that made his heart break, but he needed time. He needed to be selfish for this once. The loud bang of the front door echoed again. Then the car driving off. Where did Minhyuk go? Kihyun was now worried that something might happen to the man he still loved deep down.
