ahri

it's 7:34 p.m. now. wonyoung has stayed for a bit since she's healing. over the time, she told us everything about her mother. all the horrible things she did to her. wonyoung said that even if just for a day, she wants to wake up knowing that she doesn't need to worry about her mother hurting her.
she wants to escape but she can't.

ring

ring--

"h-hello, mommy?" wonyoung held her phone with a shaky hand. what does that witch want now?

i couldn't hear what her mother was saying but, i got an idea when i saw wonyoung's facial expression. she muttered an 'okay' and hung up.

"uhmm thank you all for helping me but, i need to get going" my mom helped her get up and with shaking legs, wonyoung made it to the door.
"are you sure you want to go?" she's outside now... i really have a bad feeling about this.

"yup. it's fiiiine" she smiled, her usual fake smile.

i only nodded. she hugged me tightly in return. i was shocked, again, she doesn't really do these kind of things. is she really fine?

"goodbye, ahri"

and with that, she left. i tried to ignore the bad thoughts gnawing in the back of my mind. i closed the door.

'goodbye, ahri' what does that mean? she never says goodbye before... i feel sick. i swear something good isn't going to come out of this. what if...?

"hey... it's going to be alright.." my dad said, though his eyes were a bit unsure as well. "it's best if we all go to bed. you have school tomorrow, right?"

"...yeah" i sighed and went upstairs to my bedroom. every step i took, my body felt heavier.

i collapsed on my bed. i took my phone on the nightstand and looked at wonyoung's name in my contacts.

it's going to be alright.
