no. 10

i woke up with a (shockingly) light feeling. it's like all of my problems were lifted off my shoulders. i don't know why but i have a good feeling about this day.

"wonyoung!" i wave at her from across the hallway. instead of waving back at me like usual, she just stared at me blankly.

i run towards her location, slightly bumping other students on the way and muttering an apology.

"yo, what's wrong?" i ask her. her head whips to my direction as if she just woke up from a terrible dream.

"h-huh i didn't notice you, what? sorry, i-i've been distracted since this morning. i don't know why. i actually used my roommate's toothbrush by accident." she explained.

i had to stifle a laugh, "how gross can you be, maybe you didn't get any sleep?"

"i did. i slept well but, when i woke up i just... i don't know." her eyes casted downwards. it's probably hard to explain through words so i just guide her to her locker.

she opens it and we're both shocked to see what's inside.

nothing.

apart from her textbooks and other school supplies, there was nothing. no teddy bears, no flowers, no letters, no notes...

could it be that jeno and jaemin talked to renjun and he finally stopped with the whole secret admirer thing? a smile crept up my lips as the feeling of success makes my stomach flutter with happiness.

"i did it... i took care of it. hah!" i couldn't contain my happiness and jumped up and down out of joy. other students looked at me but I could care less.

"you did it!" wonyoung hugged me tightly.

i was taken aback but nonetheless hugged back. there was a smile on her face as we let go of each other. there it is. the smile i've achieved of giving her. it could brighten anyone's day.

"i'm finally free, ahri!" the bell suddenly rung and it was time for first period. "let's go", she said and dragged me towards our classroom.

i can't believe it. it feels surreal yet here it is. it happened and i should be glad but, why do i have this unsettling feeling gnawing in my stomach?
