Bella watched her former best friend walk down the hallway towards Helena. Of course, Bella thought. Why would she talk to me after what happened last summer? Tory glared at her, her usually calm green eyes cold and distant. Bella flinched at the glare and hugged her binder. Taking a deep breath, she made her way towards Helena and Tory. As she got closer, Bella noticed that Helena had been giving Tory a skeptical look.

"Hey Bells!" exclaimed Helena. Tory rolled her emerald eyes.

"Hey Helena," Bella said quietly. She kept her eyes down and focused on her shoes instead.

"What's up?" She said cheerfully.

"I was just wondering... my birthday is next Friday. I'm gonna have like a small get together at my house. I was wondering if you wanted to come."

"We would love to," said Tory in a sugary voice, "but I don't know if I can trust you. You might take something that's not yours. Like last year." Bella flinched at the comment while Helena glared at Tory. Spinning on her heels, Tory stalked down the hallway, stealing a few glances in the process.

"We'd love to go," said Helena. Bella sighed, knowing Tory would look for any way to do otherwise. Nodding, she made her way towards English class.

~~~Jayden's View~~~
Jayden Martin walked to English class, bumping past Tory Della on his way there. She glared at him, her green eyes electric.
"Well aren't you going to apologize?" she growled. Jayden mumbled a low apology, low enough for only Tory to hear. As he started walking away, he felt his throat start to close up. The air around him became thick and hard to breath. His books flew out of his hands, paper flying all around the hallway. Luckily for him, the hallways were empty since the bell had already rang. Jayden's vision began to blur, the pounding in his ears getting louder and louder. He fell to his knees, his arms pathetically grabbing at his throat. He heard a menacing laughter, the sound dark and evil. Why wasn't Tory helping him? Jayden began to feel lightheaded, there was little oxygen reaching his head. Just when he swore he could see the light, Jayden heard a distant voice.
"Hey!" yelled the voice. "What are you doing to him?" Immediately, the grip on Jayden's throat vanished. He began to cough violently, the rush of breath overwhelming him. He tried calming his breathing, stealing a glance at Tory and then at the mysterious boy jogging down the hallway. Jayden was horrified to see that she was smiling, the sinister smirk evident on her face. She seemed satisfied by what just happened. She ran a hand through her hair and walked down the hallway.
"Are you okay," asked a velvety voice. Jayden whipped his head towards the mysterious voice. The boy that spoke watched him with concerned eyes. The blue of his irises made him blush.
"I'm fine," replied Jayden. He got up quickly only to realize that all his books were on the floor. Embarrassed, he began to pick them up. The handsome boy didn't hesitate to help him, his strong hands working twice as fast as Jayden's. Jayden watched him curiously, his short dark brown hair looked soft.
"I'm Felix," he said warmly. He stuck out his hand, an act foreign to Jayden.
"Jayden," Jayden replied uncertainly. Felix smiled widely, his pearly whites mesmerizing Jayden.
"Are you new here?" asked Felix. Jayden nodded, his eyes focusing on a spot on the floor. "I could show you around," he suggested cheerfully, "I'm captain of the football team and student body president." Jayden rolled his eyes inwardly, of course he was, he was gorgeous.
"Sure, that'd be great," Jayden said. He rose his eyes to meet Felix's. They shined with excitement.
"Great. Look for me at lunch, I usually sit with the football team. We sit at the tables near the window overlooking the garden." Jayden stared at him wide-eyed. Why was he being so nice? With one last smile, he turned to walk towards his next class. Jayden caught him stealing glances at him.
