Chapter 8: Hex

Time seemed to slow down in the large library.

As Tory flew in the air, Xavier jumped on top of Serena. They both fell to the ground, Xavier covering her protectively. Before Tory even reached Lakhota, she began to yell. Flames erupted from all over her body, lighting up in the room in a blazing ember. Tory fell to the floor but quickly got up.

"You think your magic is stronger than mine, little whore," Tory smiled psychotically at Bella. Bella held up her hands and flicked her wrists. A ring of fire instantly surrounded Tory.

"What the hell is going on," yelled Jayden. Felix and Austin both stood in front of him protectively, their bodies blocking Jayden from Tory's chants.

Tory laughed and opened her palm. Wasps and maggots flew out from her hand, filling up the library. Driven by anger, they were magically enchanted to attack the teens. Tory tried taking a step but instantly yelled when she felt the power of Bella's fire prison. She closed her eyes and began to chant under her breath. The flames instantly turned blue and dispersed, clearing her path to Jayden.

"Little Jay Jay," she taunted. "The little Virgin Witch." She mocked. Jayden felt himself get red and even more terrified at the same time. "If only you joined the Blue Fire, you could be so useful," Austin stepped forward and lifted his hands, his palms facing Tory.

"Vites," he said loudly. Dark green vines sprouted from the floor and began to whip around the library violently. Austin clapped his hands together and watched the vines attack Tory. They wrapped themselves around her ankles, her wrists, her neck. Tory yelled and growled viciously.

"Screw you Austin," she yelled. "If it was Jayden you wouldn't think twice before saving him," The wasps buzzed and began to fly around Austin. One landed on his hand and stung him, earning a yelp of pain from Austin. He lost his grip on the vines and staggered back. Lucas and Bella began to approach.

With a flick of her wrist, Tory sent them flying. "Stop it Tory," yelled a distraught Helena. Tears ran down her face.

"Why," retorted Tory. "You always preferred her over me," Tory's hands shifted into sharp talons. Jayden gasped as he saw Tory leap on top of Helena, clawing at her face. Helena yelled in pain.

"Back off," growled Alice. Alice placed her hands on either side of Tory's head and began to chant. Tory yelped in pain and her screams of agony filled Jayden's ears.

Austin moaned and began to get up, half-conscious. The wasps still circled his head menacingly. "Jayden," he whispered. A fireball from above caught his attention.

Bella and Lucas were floating, an imaginary force keeping them from returning to the ground. Orbs of flame came out of Bella's hands. They hit Tory with a blinding explosion. Alice kept chanting while Helena lay passed out in a corner.

Tory's eyes flew open, her usually green irises suddenly sapphire blue. Blue flames began to dance around her, making Alice chant louder. Tory laughed but the laugh wasn't hers. It was ancient, evil.

"You ignorant Witches think that you can survive the Blue Fire," All magic instantly froze. Bella's fireballs froze in midair while Alice froze in midchant. Austin had summoned the vines again but they froze before they even rose halfway. The maggots and wasps froze and fell to the ground.

"What's going on," whispered Jayden. He gripped Felix's bicep in fear. Felix wrapped his arms around Jayden protectively.

"I don't know," he whispered back. Tory released herself from Alice's grip and walked towards Jayden. Her talons shifted back into her hands.

"I suggest you move out of my way, air Witch. You're dealing with a force stronger than all of you combined," Felix glared at the dark evil. He didn't budge an inch. Tory shrugged "Suit yourself," She raised her hand to her mouth, as if blowing a kiss. "Glacialem osculum,"
