  "Trina, please. I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"

"I don't care!" Trina shouts at him, tears beginning to leak out of her eyes, "You could've just told me you were unhappy with me!" Tears were streaming down her face now and Marvin could hardly take it.

"Instead-" she gasped out "- Instead I had to find you with some-"

"Please, don't," Marvin said quietly, begging.

"You care more about him than you ever did for me. Why don't you go live with your boyfriend? " Trina spat out, slamming the door in his face.

Marvin was at a loss at what to do next. He couldn't go to live with Theodore, it was a one time thing. Both of them had made that quite clear. Defeated, he walked over to the beach, it's where he always went to clear his mind.

Marvin had been aimlessly walking down the beach for a while now, so long, in fact, that the sun was starting to set. He sighed audibly. The only people left on the beach were couples that were so happily in love that it made him sick to his stomach. The distressed man was then reminded of his predicament, and the fact that he had yet to come up with a solution to his living situation. He was homeless now and it's not like he has any friends to stay with until he got back on his feet. He never bothered making any before and now Marvin was deeply regretting that.

"Oh, sorry," Marvin said after he ran into a blonde-haired girl.

"You seem a bit distracted. Are you okay?"
she replied instead of just taking the apology. Marvin couldn't understand why. She could have done anything else and she decided to get involved in his mess.

He answered with a quick nod, afraid to open his mouth. Everything that happened might come spilling out and Marvin couldn't comprehend anyone wanting to listen to him. So, he opted to hold it in until it either comes out on it's own or it kills him.

"That's not true," she said soothingly, "Things start to get better and make sense if you tell someone what's going on."

Marvin opened his mouth to protest, or maybe ask why she cares so much, but instead everything came spilling out. At the end of his rant, he had collapsed on the ground, sobbing and wheezing.

Cordelia nodded in understanding, "I see, you can stay with Charlotte and I, I assume you don't mind homosexuality."

"You assumed correctly," Marvin choked out, wiping the tears and snot from his face with his sleeve, and standing up. He was not a pretty crier, "Thanks."

He decided not to ask why she was compelled to let him stay, fearful that she would change her mind and retract her offer.

"Sorry, I didn't get the chance to ask this earlier, but what's your name?" she asked him.

"Oh! Uh- I'm Marvin," he stuck out his hand for a handshake, so they could have some sort of formal greeting, at the very least.

"Cordelia," she replied, shaking his hand with a smile setting on her face. "C'mon, we should probably get going."

Marvin realized that the sun had nearly set completely and there wasn't anyone left on the beach except them. So, he nodded quickly, hoping Cordelia was able to guide them in the dark. They made their way to Cordelia's house, only stumbling a few times.

"Ta-da!" Cordelia said, flinging open the door. Marvin laughed at her dramatics as he followed her inside, "You can stay in the guest room, right this way!"

She led him to the guest room to set down his things, but quickly realized he didn't have any.

"We'll have to go get your things later."

Marvin nodded in agreement and they went back out to the living room.

"Are you hungry?" Cordelia asked Marvin, already heading towards the kitchen, "I've been trying out some new recipes recently and it's nice to have a third opinion."

Marvin was about to ask who the second person was before he remembered about her girlfriend, Charlotte.

"Yeah, thanks." He said, taking a cookie off the tray she was holding out to him.

He tasted it, having full confidence Cordelia was good at cooking. Even then, with that confidence, he didn't expect it to be that good.

"Holy shit," he said after he finished, "that was delicious!"

Cordelia laughed and thanked him for the compliment, then offered him more, which he gladly took.

"So, are you and Charlotte married?" Marvin asked, trying to be conversational.

"Yeah," Cordelia said, smiling at the thought of her wife.

"Tell me a little about her," Marvin said, he didn't really know how to keep a conversation going, so he would let Cordelia do the talking.

"Oh, she's just the best," Cordelia started, still grinning "God, I could probably go on for hours about her, you sure you don't mind?"

Marvin nodded, smiling as well to indicate he didn't mind in the slightest. However, before Cordelia could even start talking about her lovely wife, the door swung open and Cordelia all but sprinted to greet Charlotte.

"How was your day at the healing center?" Marvin heard Cordelia ask, heading out of the kitchen to join the other two.

"Quite boring actually, it was a slow day," Charlotte replied. Marvin noticed just how in love they were and realized that he and Trina never had that.

"The only interesting thing that happened was that one-" she stopped mid-sentence, noticing Marvin. They made eye contact for what felt like the longest ten seconds of Marvin's life before Charlotte looked over at Cordelia, who smiled and gave a small nod.

Charlotte seemed to understand their nonverbal interaction, as she formally held her hand out for Marvin to shake, while introducing herself.

"I'm Marvin," he replied, hoping Charlotte  wasn't always this formal.

Cordelia must have been a mind reader or something because when Charlotte excused herself to set her coat down, Cordelia leaned over and whispered in Marvin's ear, "Don't worry, she'll warm up to you."

Marvin grinned to himself, still not understanding why people liked having lots of friends, but nonetheless enjoying having a few.

"Hey, it's getting a little late, shouldn't you be heading home?" Charlotte asked, walking back into the room.

"Oh-um-" Marvin stuttered out, not quite sure what to say. He mentally cursed himself, realizing that he should've gotten permission from both of them before assuming he could stay over. Now, he's going to be stuck in a run-down hotel room-.

"He's staying in the guest bedroom for a while," Cordelia said, cutting off Marvin's train of thought. She shot Charlotte a look that he couldn't quite decipher, but he assumed it meant 'don't ask. Marvin silently thanked her, now convinced Cordelia was some sort of ethereal being.

Charlotte shrugged, not really caring if he stayed over, "Fine with me, just don't wreck the place."

Marvin smiled, loving the lesbians already. He just met them and now he can stay in their home as long as he doesn't destroy the place. Oh, how Marvin wished he had made friends with them sooner.

"Thank you so much," Marvin said, showing his gratitude.

"Not a problem. Now, seriously, it's late. Go get some sleep," Charlotte replied.

Cordelia swatted her on the arm playfully, laughing, "He's a grown man, Char, leave him be."

"No, no, she's right, I should be going to sleep, night," Marvin said, yawning a bit.

"Goodnight," both girls said, inwardly deciding that Marvin could stay forever.
