Coras pov.:
Well there. I said it. Ughh why can't he just keep out of my business? What makes him think that I have any obligation in answering his questions? He looks at me in disbelief and I just know he wants to say something.
So I just take his chance away. "Don't you dare ask any more questions, because I'm not in the mood to tell you about my whole fucking life story okay?!" I don't fucking care if he thinks that he can help me or something. I don't want his pity. I just want him to leave me alone.
We sit there silently in the car until we reach our meeting point. I rush out of the car and slam the door shut. All eyes are on me. "What? You got a problem?" I spat angrily. Everyone hurries away since we have to leave in tops twenty minutes.
When I see Charlie, I hurry my way over to overlook the whole situation now. "Hey is everything ready? Is something missing?" He looks at the clipboard he's holding in his hands "Well we just have to load some weapons into the cargoplanes and we are ready to go. We also have been informed that the others are waiting for us at the checkpoint in Baghdad."
I nod and I find myself gathering all the boys so we can board a plane. "C' mon guys move! I'll explain everything to you on the plane" I sit next to Ryder and Hunter while the others sit on the opposite side of the plane.
(Like this but without the aisle in the middle and it is slimmer)
"So guys... This will be the first mission for most of you. This mission is not like the other ones I must tell you. This will be a big one and we cannot make any mistakes or the life of our members will be at stake. So I'll need you to follow my orders without hesitation or we will be doomed."
We feel the plane start and fly into the air. I take out the entire plan for the operation out of my backpack. "We will be divided into five groups that will have five different leaders. With that strategy, we can weaken them from different points and we will have way more advantage. From what I can remember now, you guys won't be all together because it would be inconvenient to keep all the new guys together. Something important is that we always stay together and leave no one behind unless it could put in danger the whole group. I won't lie to you... You will probably have to kill someone one way or another so I suggest you prepare mentally for that because that is nothing you should take on lightly. I'm sorry I have to tell you this but this will be a bloodbath, there's no other way. We have to exterminate everyone, no one will be spared or te other gangs in the world won't take us seriously. The Knoxx's know no compassion. The Knoxx's are heartless killers and it will stay that way or you are out? Understand?"
I see it in their faces that they are not comfortable with this situation but what can I do. I didn't make them join my gang and I'm certain that it is known that in a gang things like this happen. I sigh and I shake my head a little.
"I'm sorry guys but this is the gang life and I can't do anything about it. It's either kill or get killed. You'll get used to it and I know that this sounds horrible but it's true. You'll probably never be like me because I enjoy this even though I know it's not right. So please just never become like me and everything will be fine. All the information will be passed through later in our main base in Baghdad when everyone is there so I won't have to repeat everything twice. But this was just some extra info because I didn't want to throw you in cold water before warning you"
The thrilled expressions that were there at the beginning of the flight have almost completely faded. Now they look rather deeply concerned and thoughtful but who wouldn't be. After all, it's their first time they participate in this.
The flight is estimated to be 15 hours long so luckily I could organize some mattresses, pillows and blankets. This way we could be somewhat comfortable on this long flight. Suddenly the speaker on the plane goes off.
"Hey guys it's Charlie and I just wanted to tell you that if you want you can walk around now since we are in a stable position. Don't forget to rest some hours before getting to Baghdad because we can't work with tired people."
I unbuckle myself and stretch myself a little. I let my body plop down on the mattresses and I yawn loudly. Soon the guys join me and it's a pleasant vibe although they were stressed just some minutes ago. I turn to look at Hunter since right next to me.
"So what do you think will happen?" I murmur. He looks at me with this expression he always has when he's thinking about something. " Well, honestly I can't tell you. This time I have no good or bad feeling. It's weird but maybe this means it will all go okay I guess." "I hope everything will go alright because I hate losing lives in operations." He smiles at me "It will all be fine don't worry"
The seven hours pass rapidly since we are joking around and speaking to lighten up the mood. Slowly one after the other falls asleep what is perfect so everyone will be rested when we arrive. The last ones awake are me and Hunter and I must say that I missed talking to him in these two years without seeing each other.
I'm snuggled into his chest while his arms are loosely wrapped around my waist while we talk about all the things we did when we were little. Like the time I was wearing this beautiful white dress and while we were eating, he accidentally poured his grape juice on it. I got so mad that I threw a meatball at him and that was the time we started the big food fight between the kids of scary gang leaders.
After all that storytelling we finally fell asleep like all the others.
