Lets begin the game

Chapter 19

Charlies pov.:

We've arrived at the main base for four hours and everyone is hectically hushing around and trying to leave everything prepared for tomorrow. We're especially careful not to make any mistakes since Cora's around and that just makes everyone on edge. We know it's the real deal when she plans to be on the battlefield first hand. 

Right now we are in the planning tent with all the group leaders so we can talk everything through thoroughly. The ground plan from the base of the al'afdal gang is expanded on the table in front of us. 

"This mission shouldn't be too difficult if we all just stick to the plan. As you know we will attack from four sides so they can't focus on one point and the fifth group that will be lead by me will enter the base and kill the important people aka. Mr Maalouf. So I will list the different groups just to be sure that everything is prepared. Group 1. The bomb squad. Keith, you will be the group leader. You will attack the entrance meaning the south part of their base, setting free the surprise effect so the others can enter through other parts. Don't forget, we just need the entrance and no more so we won't need many explosives and the explosion has to be perfectly controlled or you'll be risking all our lives. I would recommend that you take Skylar into your group. So moving over to group 2. Charlie, you will sneak through the back and shut off all their surveillance systems. I would advise you to take just a handful of members for that task and let the others of your group wait outside till it's shut off. You'll take Nash and Alec because your group is less dangerous than others and they are pretty young. Group 3 and 4. Your task is to take out all the guards. Group 3 on the west side and group 4 on the east side. No close contact fighting, this has to be done by sniping them down from a distance of 200 m. Hunter, you lead group 3 and Ryder group 4. Ryder, you're with Tadashi and Jaden and Hunter, you're with Phoenix. Now we come to my group. We will consist of five people. Xeno, Neo, Gael, Nico and me. So is everyone okay with this or do you have any questions or suggestions?"

I'm surprised that Hunter is the first one to speak up since most of the times he's just the strong pretty boy that just does what he's told to. "Well, I'm a little concerned about the composition of your group boss. Since you probably have noticed that these are all new members and have little to no experience in handling situations like this. Are you aware of this?"

I'm almost certain that she did deeply think about it but right now I can't tell. I'm rather surprised that she made this choice since she often builds her group with Jack, Maritza, Jane, Alexandre, etc. but this time she took no one of her usual choices. 

She places her hands on the table and takes a deep breath "I chose to form the group this way because I want them to build up their skills for the future and honestly it's because I know that it won't be easy for them to kill someone and I know these four can handle it being thrown in the cold water."

Hunter nods and looks satisfied with the response. I look around "So will this be everything for today or is there something more because I have to go and calculate with my team the number of explosives we're going to need." 

"No. I guess this will be everything for today. You're dismissed"

Coras pov.:

I rush out of the tent after I dismissed them and walk around inspecting everything. I know I can be a control freak sometimes but I don't care as long as it makes me succeed. I'm passing through the weaponry when I notice the boys sitting in the shadow since it's 41 degrees outside. 

"Nico, Gael, Xeno and Neo can you please come with me?" They get up without hesitation and follow me to a rather isolated location. "So what's up" Xeno smiles at me. "Well as you know tomorrow is the big showdown and we have five groups and one of those groups will be lead by me. I had to choose who will be coming with me and I chose you four. I know, I know this is the first time of you doing something like this but I trust you guys and I know you won't let me down. Do you have any questions?" 

Complete disbelief is written on their faces and I don't know if they are shocked in a good way or not. I chuckle and sigh loudly "C' mon guys get your shit together. It's not that big of a deal" "What will we have to do? What is our goal?" Gael blurts out after calming down a little. 

"We have one main goal and that is to kill Mr Maalouf and after that, it is to carry out a massacre and leaving no one alive," I look into intensely into the group as I watch them frown thoughtfully. "Just go to sleep early because you will need it and don't think too much about tomorrow."

I leave them standing there knowing it's a lot to process. I rush to my tent having absolutely no nerves to talk to someone so I plump into my mattress and look at the roofing of the tent. 

Was it a good idea to take them into my group even if I know that when you're with me that it will be the most brutal task? Well, they have to learn to deal with stuff like this. The gang life isn't just riches and fun, it contains a lot of unpleasant tasks but you'll get used to it. 

Even though I planed everything thoroughly I still have this bad feeling in my gut. Nah... It's probably nothing... I always have this feeling before we have a big mission. We have been so careful organising it just can't go wrong. 

I just want to see Mr Maalouf in front of me turning completely blue when I put my hands on his neck and just won't stop pressing. Uff...So satisfying...
