ADDIES POV

Luke and I arrived at the batting cages and he signed us in. We were standing up against the fence when I heard the sliding doors open. Jai walked in first, his hand intertwined in May's. She smiled and waved, and Jai did the 'bro nod' to Luke. I smiled and waved back, she really is a nice girl.

Luke came up behind me and tapped on my shoulder as Jai as May were signing in as well. "You gonna be okay?" He whispered. I scoffed and turned around. "Yeah. Of course, why wouldn't I be?" I shouted, but quickly looked around at all of the people staring at me. I really hate seeing Jai holding another girl the way he held me. It hurts... A lot.

Luke and I were up first, we made them teams because May didn't want to go alone. It's her first time. Me and Jai used to come here all the time, he taught me how to bat. As the memories rush over me, Luke snaps his fingers in front of my face. "Addie, you're up first." He chuckled, gesturing to the gate. "Actually Luke, I'm not feeling to good. Um, play for me. I'm gonna run to the bathrooms to freshen up." I said, quickly speed walking to the bathrooms.

Once I get to the bathrooms, I let it out. Everything. The cries, the tears, the hurt. I didn't think it would hurt this much, but now seeing it in person, I know what it feels like. But I don't like the feeling.

While I sit, leaning on a wall with my head in my hands, the bathroom door creaks loudly open. May tiptoes in and makes her way over to me, kneeling in front of me. "You okay?" I can tell she is sincere by the look in her eyes. I nod my head before looking away. "Listen, if there's anything I can do please tell me. Are you sick?" She asks, helping me stand. I shake my head. She sighs, "let's go then." She smiled. I squeeze a smile back as she turns and makes her way for the door. On her way there, I saw something wrong with the heel on her shoe. Before I could say anything, she fell over, hitting her arm on the counter. She let out a small scream and I quickly rushed over to her. "Are you okay?" I shout. "Uh, ya I'm fine." She forces a smile and quickly stands up. "Your arm!" I point to the big bruise covering her small arm. "Oh! Oh, that'll be fine. I'm good. Let's just go." She smiles. As we make our way out the door, her phone starts to ring and we both stop.

"Hello?" She says, making her voice really high. I can hear muffled sounds coming out of her phone. "Oh okay. I'll meet you there." She sighs, hanging up her phone and putting it in her small handbag. "I have to go. Sorry." She quickly hugs me before rushing down the hall and out the door. "Okay..." I whisper, making my way out as well.

LUKES POV

When May went to check on Addie, Jai and I sat on the bench.

"So how's May?" I ask, nudging his shoulder.

"Shes okay. She's so sweet and not to mention how adorable she is." He chuckled, it was obviously a nervous chuckle. "And how's Addie?" I ask, looking over at him. I know what he really wants to say. "She's fine." He barks. "You love her." I laugh, pushing him slightly. "What? No I don't!" He shouts. "Whatever!" I shout back. "I'm just gonna leave." Jai stands up and before I can say anything, he's out the door.

JAIS POV

I said I don't love Addie. I really just didn't know how to answer.

I jump into my car and pull out my phone.

"Hello?" A high voice asks.

"Hey May, me and Luke got into a little argument, wanna meet in the car." I ask.

"Oh okay. I'll meet you there." She says, hanging up.

A minute later, May shows up at the car door. But she's crying. Once she's in the passenger seat, I quickly pull her in for a hug. "What's wrong?" I ask, cupping her face in my hands. "Um, it's nothing. You wouldn't care." She nervously tries to wipe the tears from her face. "I do care. Please tell me." I said. She hesitated, before turning to face me. Slowly, she turned her body so her right arm is facing me. I gasp at the large purple bruise showing. I lean over and grasp her in another hug. "how did this happen?" I shout, more worried. She hesitated, and looked down at her lap. "Addie."

Oh my god. She wouldn't do that? Seriously? Angrily, I slap my hands on the steering wheel and take off, towards Mays house.

"I'm gonna drop you off. I need to talk to Luke for a little when he gets home, sorry Babe." I say, hugging her once last time. She nods and sniffles. "That's fine, thanks for today." She fakes a smile and shuts the door. Quickly, I take off back to my house. I need to talk to Addie.
