My Princess || Jai Brooks Fan Fiction

Forget.

My eyes burned, my head ached, my stomach was in a knot, my heart was demolished. I am ruined. Something about the way that felt, made the tears feel like acid. Everything is breaking, not only my heart. I lay leaned back on my bed, taking deep breaths, not able to cry anything more out. Everything was already gone.

There was a loud knock on the door, I sighed and stood up. My knees wobbled, I had been laying here all night crying. No sleep, and right now I could go to sleep just standing up. I've never felt anything worse. Once I finally made it to my front door, I attempted to steady my shaky hand and turn the nob. The autumn air washed over my legs, and I took in a sharp breath. Jai. He stood in a jumper and sweats, waiting with his hands in his pockets. His head rose up to meet mine and without any words, he pushed himself in. I almost tumbled to the ground, and Jai noticed, grabbing my waist. Once I was steady, I pulled myself from his grasp and shut the door. "Addie..." I heard him say from behind me. I continued to rest my hand on the door handle and stare at it. I felt my bottom lip tremble like a two year old, I'm one ugly crier. Quickly, I sniffled and wiped the tears from my cheeks. I spun myself around to face Jai. "Addie hear me out." Jai began, I gave him a quick glance for him to continue before looking down at my hands once more. "Addie you're not upset about me and May are you?" Jai chuckled a little. I looked up at him, giving him one heck of a glare. He got the message and looked down to his hands, just as I did. "You can't be mad about that ya know." Jai said just above a whisper. "What do you mean?" I asked, my voice cracking mid sentence. "Jai I have every right to be mad at you." I said, a lot more confident than intended. "Oh yeah, and why is that?" Jai stood up. I stood up, and now our bodies were only inches apart. "You promised me that you would never love another girl. You promised me you would be there to pick me up yesterday. Not only were you not there, but you were with another girl!" I yelled, at this point I was letting the tears roll down my cheeks without care. "Ya but when you don't contact me for 10 months I take that as a sign that you found someone else too. So I found someone who will love me!" Jai shouted in my face. I had to lean back a little because of how close he was. "Jai I was busy! I would have called you everyday but I was busy with work and you should've known that!" I yelled, poking his chest with my index finger. "Well Addie I didn't know that. I thought you had moved on, so I did too. I love May so you can find someone else better too." His words rung in my ears. Jai doesn't love me. The one thing that makes me happy, can now be the only thing to make me cry. I feel my bottom lip tremble and I quickly cover my face in my hands. I step to the side, not facing Jai. "Addie, that's not what I meant..." Jai started. "It doesn't matter Jai. If you don't love me, then I will find someone who will." I shout, turning back to him. The tears are blurring my eyes, my bottom lip is now trembling nonstop, and I am shaking as if there's an earthquake. It's taking my all to even continue to stand.

JAIS POV

The look on her face killed me. It hurt so much to not hear her voice for 10 months. I found May, she was the complete opposite of Addie. So I started dating her, to try and get over Addie. Nothing worked, if I can just get over her we can both be happy. She looks so hurt right now and it's taking my all not to run to her and hold her like nothing ever happened. I hate to see her like this, and it only kills me to think that I caused it.

There was a faint knock on her door and she sped walked past me, towards it. When she opened the door, I saw May standing there batting her eyelashes. She's so fake. Addie's face turned bright red and she began shaking, so much that it was noticeable. "Is Jai here?" May asked in a high pitch voice. "Right here May," I came up behind Addie. Addie was practically frozen in her spot. "I just have to give something to Addie really quick." I pulled out the teddy bear from my pocket and gently held it in front of her. Her tears multiplied but she was obviously trying her best to hold them back. Her shaky hand came up and gently took the bear from my hands. She looked down at it one last time and then looked back up at me. Her eyes glowed with pain and that just made me hurt as well. I felt a tear roll down my cheek but I quickly wiped it away. My Addie baby. She's so hurt right now. That teddy bear, she kept it with her wherever she went. I promised her I would never love anyone like I love her. My princess.

My thoughts were imaginarily slapped out of my brain when I saw Addie turn to May with the bear. "This is from Jai. He said he wanted to give it to the girl he loved. He came to ask me for my opinion on the whole idea. He said that he promises to you, that he will never leave you. You are his princess." This time, I couldn't stop the tears. May wasn't my princess. Addie was and always will be my princess.

"Awww, thank you baby." May hugged me. I watched over her shoulder as May continued to look out of the door, at the autumn leaves. May finally pulled away and took my hand. She pulled me out of Addie's house. The second we were out of the house, Addie slammed the door shut.

STILL JAIS POV

Once May and I got settled back into the couch, I couldn't stop thinking about Addie's words. "You're his princess." She lied to May. She knows that she is my princess. She didn't take the bear back either. My thoughts are broken up when the familiar ding from my phone comes up. I quickly pull it out of my pocket.
