Chapter 13: Surgery Day

Two weeks later was the day her surgery was scheduled Dr Barnes and Dr Cooper came in "You ready?" Rebecca said 

"Yeah.." Marissa said 

Bucky kissed her "Don't you dare leave me do you understand? We have plans baby." he said with tears in his eyes.

"I love you James." she said 

"I love you baby." he said as he gave her one last kiss. 

They wheeled her back and he went with her parents to the waiting room. He had his face buried in his hands resting his elbows on his knees bouncing his legs. He felt someone grab his hand he looked up "Mama." he said as she squeezed his hand and sat beside him.

"Becca brought me up here two weeks ago. And told me about her and updated me on your life. And um I'm very sorry that you are having to go through this again." she said 

Bucky leaned over and hugged Winnie as he cried. "Shhh baby she's gonna be fine I trust your sister." she said 

Becca removed the first of the three tumors "That chemo helped reduce these." Becca said as she talked. 

Dr Cooper said "Ovary Removed Dr Thomas" 

"Okay get her put back together and stitch her up. Give an update to the family and the boyfriend." Dr Thomas said 

"Okay." Dr Cooper said as she finished up her stitch. 

She walked out to the waiting room "Okay I've finished my part and it was successful. Dr Barnes is almost done. But she's doing well so far." Dr Cooper said then she walked out. 

Bucky started to pace as did John. Winnie looked at Marissa's mom Ella  "They are making me a nervous wreck.." Winnie said

Ella  let out a laugh and said "Me too." 

Another hour passed when Rebecca stitched up Marissa and scrubed out. She walked into the waiting room.

 "She's in recovery that chemo helped reduced the tumors down and made it easier for me to remove them. She will be awake in a few hours and we will make see how she feels and make sure we didn't miss anything when she wakes up. But otherwise we were able to remove all three as well as her ovary. She will continue chemo for another six months to make sure we are in the clear. But she won't have to stay here in the hospital she will have chemo appointments and scans for the next six months." Rebecca said 

Rebecca showed Bucky to the recovery room and opened the curtain for him. He kissed her forehead "i'm here darlin..I'm right here baby." he whispered as he interlaced their hand together. 

A few hours later she started to come to and squeezed his hand "James.." she whispered 

"Hey beautiful.." he said with a smile and red eyes.

"I'm okay..don't cry baby I'm awake..and I'm talking and I can see you." she said as she wiped his tears. 

He smiled at her "I love you baby." he said

"I love you too James Buchanan Barnes..the best damn boyfriend in the world." she said 

"Oh Marissa Rosalie Taylor you are a fighter." he said as he kissed her lips.

They moved her to her room and Rebecca came in "How are you feeling Marissa?' she said 

She looked around the room "I feel good.." she said as a tear fell. 

"Baby.." he said 

"It was nice even if it was all in my head to have him back for just a little bit..hearing his smart mouth comments and having him with me again." she said with a smile. 

"Marissa he's always with you baby. But we need you healthy baby." John said 

"I know.." she said 

Later that night it was just her and Bucky in her hospital room "Still love me.." she said 

"Of course baby why would I not love you." he said as he caressed her cheek. 

She looked down "You loved my hair .." she said 

"Baby your hair will grow back.. but it's not the reason why I love you it is just part of the package of this beautiful girl laying right here next to me. But if it will make you feel better I will buy you all the wigs in the world till your hair grows back. I want you at school with me I will bring you to all your appointments and I'm gonna take you to junior prom baby." he said 

She smiled "You are making me fall even more in love with you James you need to stop.." she said 

He smiled at her and kissed her " Never baby.." he whispered. 

She laid her head on his shoulder and they went to sleep. 

The next morning their friends came in and her band mates including Micah came in. Micah came over and said "I know what you said but the band was yours and Mitchell's not mine. We closed the facebook page after making the official announcement that Steel Rose is no longer performing." 

"But Micah.." she said

"No..it's done I cancelled all of our bar contracts and sold everything." Micah said 

"okay.." she said 

"Besides Lyla the blonde that I have been seeing off and on..she's pregnant I have to grow up but I'll always be around as a friend." Micah said

She smiled and said "Congratulations." 

Natasha said "Rissa..coach said to tell you that she will keep your spot open for if you feel you are ready and well enough to come back for senior year." 

"Thanks" Marissa said 

They all stayed for a little bit then they left. As they were laying there she kissed Bucky and rolled her tongue into his mouth. "Mmm baby we are in the hospital...mmm you just ...oh god.." he whispered as they made out and she slid her hand down his pants and started to play. He covered them up with the blanket then cupped her cheek. "Mmm yeah baby.." he whispered as they kept kissing. "Oh fuck me..shit shit..fuck.." as he spilled out. 

He rested his forehead against hers as he caught his breathe "God damn baby that felt good after the last two days." he said 

She smiled at him. "Do something for me.." she whispered 

"Anything for you darlin.." he said 

"Love me forever?' she said

"Oh baby I will." he said as he kissed her then they went to sleep.
