"Who are you really?"

Midoriya opened his eyes, he and Todoroki were clutching onto each other, when he looked up, a giant wall of ice lay over top of them and was domed around the two, Midoriya pushes himself away from the other, he looks embarrassed and sits still.

"What was that?" Izuku asks, glancing at the other. Shoto looks the other way. "Obviously my ice." He muttered, barely audible.
"Yeah but you must have trained quite a bit to be able to unleash that amount of power." Midoriya remarks, looking at the beaten boy.

"So what? It saved us didn't it?" Todoroki shoots back, causing Midoriya to stand up, and move towards the ice dome around them.
"You've clearly made this too thick for just my fire to burn through, you must have been scared." Mirdoriya turns to look at Todoroki — was he blushing?

Izuku lets the flames ignite onto his hand as he glared at Shoto, placing his hand onto the freezing ice, he could feel the cold setting in, and he wanted to get out quickly. If he stood from a distance and blasted the ice, he would risk melting the roof, creating the collapsed tower to crush them, he had to work slowly.

"It's pointless, Midoriya, there is no way you'll be able to get through that in time, your fire isn't hot enough."
"Good thing it's not just fire," Izuku shoots back, his hand was going through a lot quicker than he anticipated, making him smile in glee, the acidic fire was a plus against Todoroki's ice.

He felt a presence behind him, and saw that Todoroki was standing by his side, holding out his left hand towards the ice.
"What, trying to stop me with mo—" he cut himself off when fire erupted from his left hand, Izuku stared in awe, so that's why he got in through recommendation, he had two quirks, much like himself.

"Okay, That was unexpected." With the heat and power of both students, they managed to melt their way through the ice within ten minuets. Once out, they turned back to look at the damage. The dome was huge, and it caught anything coming down towards it, trapping it in eternal ice.

"Impressive," Izuku muttered under his breath, Todoroki looked at him as if he heard, but he didn't say anything back.
They turn away from the ice and start towards the centre of the complex, Todoroki leading them as they get close to the flood zone.

Tomura appeared in the centre, he had a Nomu, Izuku looked at the giant beast, and Todoroki was about to intercept it before Izuku pulled him back.
"Stop, Shoto, the beast isn't for you." As he says this, a large gust of wind came from the entrance, throwing back any villains that were overwhelming Thirteen and Aizawa.

All Might was here, how did he know they were under attack? Did a student get out? Sudden annoyance made Izuku drop Todoroki's hand roughly before he stormed past. His father was sprawled on the ground, the villains picking themselves up and looking towards the entrance in a stunned silence.

"All Might is here!" Tomura cheered, the beast beside him made a horrible screeching noise before charging at the muscular human. Taisei turned to see his son storming up to him, and further behind him was a certain dual haired boy.

Izuku clenched his fists, running towards his father in an attempt to punch him, Taisei easily dodges and trips Izuku, who lands awkwardly and rolls onto the ground.
"You still have much to learn." He sighed, before standing over his son, bending down and staring at him.

"Your plan didn't work." He hissed in his ear. "You failed." Anger surged up into Izuku's stomach as he kicked up at Taisei, pushing him backwards. Taisei staggered and regained his footing, he glared at Izuku.
"Watch yourself, I've had many years of training on my side, and I created you, I chose your quirk." This wasn't new information, his father always wanted Izuku to follow in his footsteps with a fire quirk, so he created the best fire based quirk he could get his hands on, and gave it to his son.

Just then, Todoroki appeared behind Izuku, helping him up.
"Get off me!" Izuku snarled, throwing him off and making Todoroki stagger backwards slightly.
"This isn't your fight," he hissed, turning back to his father — who disappeared.

"NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" Izuku yelled, turning back around — Todoroki was at knife point again his father, one arm holding Shoto's arms back and the other arm holding the knife to his throat.

"Stop." Izuku choked out, Taisei chuckled. "You're so weak, getting close to others, forming friendships, that's for the weak, Izuku, I can make you strong, all you have to do is kill Shoto." With that, Taisei kicked Todoroki forwards, making him fall to his knees in front of Izuku, who knelt down to catch him.

"I'll wait." Taisei smirked. What was he planning? Did the villains go behind his back? Did they create their own twisted plan?
"I'm afraid I can't do that." Izuku says, helping Todoroki to his feet and facing Taisei.

"You see, I'm not a villain, like you, friends are essential in becoming a hero, you have to work together, you have to trust each other — you never know who you'll be paired with." He sneaks a glance to Shoto, who's staring at him, eyes wide and brimming with something he hasn't seen before...

Hope? Trust? ...affection?
He pushed him out of his mind, and turned back to Taisei, who's crooked smile was now that of a sad frown. "I'll give you one last chance, kill him, or die by my hands." He kicks a knife towards Izuku, who just stares at it.

Why couldn't he just kill Shoto? It would make everything so much easier, and it wasn't like he actually considered Todoroki a friend anyway...
"I'm sorry, but I can't." He turned his gaze away from the disappointment in his fathers' eyes. What started off as acting, now suddenly turned completely real.

It wasn't that his views changed on becoming a hero — no, that fire still burned brightly, he hated heroes. But the thought of killing Todoroki seemed to make him squirm, or the fact that his father called him weak, and seemed to be trying to turn him against him. The anger boiling up inside Izuku was starting to rise, small flickers of Fire zapped across his body, the sizzling sound of the boiling acid crept into the air, sounding like millions of snakes getting ready to strike at their victim.

"Taisei! Retreat!" What? In an instant, the flames died down as Izuku watched the centre. The villains were retreating..? The Nomu beast was unconscious, All Might was standing over the kids, protecting them, and Tomura was ordering Kurogiri to get everyone out.

Was it over that quickly? Where did they go wrong. His father smirked, "I'll see you soon, son." It sounded foreboding, and Izuku shivered. He knew what lay in wait for him, and the thought of going back to face his father scared him.

Todoroki walked up behind Izuku as his father retreated towards the mist, he placed a cold hand on his shoulder, a welcomed silence was left between the two.
"Izuku, who are you...really?"
