"Not what you think"

After the USJ incident, the students were escorted back to the school, Midoriya and Todoroki never spoke a word to each other, fearful their secrets were going to figured out by the other.

After being dismissed, the students were allowed to leave early to recover. Todoroki walks up to Midoriya, a serious expression plastered onto his face.
"We need to talk." He grabs Midoriya's wrist, leading him out of the classroom and following the bustle of kids as they stream out of the school. Izuku follows blindly, he didn't have any fight left in him, he was too worried about seeing his father again to care what Todoroki had to say.

Once they were outside the gates of U.A. Todoroki turns to the smaller student, his gaze cold as he stares at him. "Who are you, Midoriya?" Izuku looks up, his beaten face giving nothing away as he answers the taller male.
"I am Izuku Midoriya, of Class 1-A's Hero course, I want to be a Pro-Hero—"
"Bullshit!" Todoroki presses him up against the wall of the school, staring deep into Midoriya's eyes.

"You seemed awfully familiar with those villains and that — that creature!" Midoriya shoves him off, the Fire was back in his eyes.
"Well I'm sorry I happen to observe and study! Sorry I realised that it wasn't our fight!"
"We could have helped them!"
"Well it looks like All Might and everyone else was fine without us! After you let my father get away!"

The two boys stare at each other, the tension was thick in the air. Then, an unexpected thing happened, Todoroki calmed down and took a step back, holding out his hand to the frightened male before him.
"Izuku, I know what it's like having an evil father —"
"He's not evil — his morals aren't in the right place. Right? I'm not evil, I'm not evil. I can't be evil..." Izuku lent up against the wall, clutching his head, shaking it and repeating the words over and over again.

"I wouldn't kill, I wouldn't, I wouldn't. My morals are different, they're different." He falls to the ground, rocking back and forth, Todoroki kneels down in front of him.

"Hey, no one thinks you're evil."
"You're wrong, you're wrong!" Izuku stands up rapidly, pushing Todoroki down, Midoriya glared at the dual haired boy, before turning and storming off down the street.
"It's your fault, Todoroki." He yells over his shoulder. For once, he didn't want his company, for once, Midoriya didn't want his comfort, didn't want his presence...he didn't want him.

One month later

Midoriya hadn't attended school for over a month now, and Todoroki was getting worried, he would go to his house, but his mother would shake her head and say "he's sick, he doesn't need company right now." And that's when he caught the familiar glimpse of a man dressed in a dark coat, a blade in his hand, cleaning off the blood.

The Sports Festival had been postponed, but its events were getting closer, and Todoroki was awaiting news from the Midoriya household.
That's when Izuku walked into class.
His hair was longer, messy and unkempt, he seemed shallow, beaten, and he didn't mutter a word to anyone as he took his seat by the window, staring outside.

Todoroki was about to get up and greet him, but Aizawa walked in before Todoroki could even mutter a word.

The whole day seemed to be against him, he couldn't get near Izuku without interruption, and he was starting to get very irritated. At the end of the day, he took his chances, and followed Midoriya out of school, keeping to the shadows so the green haired male wouldn't see him.

Where Midoriya lead him next almost confirmed his deepest worries.

...

Midoriya opened the door to the Villains hideout, he hadn't spoken to anyone the whole day, his his whole being felt weighted down and tired. He was sick of being scolded by his dad, he was sick of being misjudged by the villains. He couldn't take it anymore, he wanted to prove himself.

"Izuku, you're back on your feet!" Kurogiri greets the green haired male before turning to Tomura, his father was not in sight, he had left for his trip in Tokyo, meeting Stain to purge horrible heroes.

"No thanks to any of you." He snarled back at them, taking a seat and resting his head on the desk. That when he felt Tomura trap his hair and pull him back.
"Listen here kid, were going out to cause some trouble, I think you've had just about enough time in that god-forsaken school, so you're going to make your debut tonight." He throws Izuku's head back onto the desk, making him wince in pain and rub it.

"Okay." Was all he had to say, before leaving the desk and retreating out the door. Little did he know, a certain male was waiting for him, and in an instant, Todoroki had Midoriya pinned on the ground.
"I was right, you are working with the villains." He hissed in his ear, Midoriya let a large outburst of flame erupt from him, pushing back Todoroki as he cursed at the burning in his arm.

"I don't want to fight you, Shoto." Izuku muttered as he stood up, turning around to face him.
"Why not? You're a villain, aren't you? You lied to the school, to the class — to me." Hurt shine in his eyes, and Midoriya looked away, clenching his fists and holding back his own pain.

"I'm sorry—"
"Sorry fixes nothing! I — I actually liked you, I thought we were friends, I was beginning to trust you!" Todoroki was yelling at him, pointing a frozen finger at Midoriya, getting ready to blast ice at the other.
"Let me speak." Midoriya snarls, letting small tears roll down his face.
"I like you, Todoroki, I don't know what it is, but back at the USJ when my father told me to kill you? I couldn't do it, maybe if you were someone else, but I actually like you, I don't want to lose what we have!" Despair caught him off guard, and the tears were falling rapidly, when was the last time he cried? He couldn't remember, but real tears were streaming down his face as he looked at the other boy.

"Todoroki...help me." Izuku fell to his knees, Todoroki caught him, bringing Izuku's head to his chest, stroking his hair and whispering sweet nothings into his ear.
"It's going to be okay, I'll look after you. We can get through this, I'll - I'll rescue you."
They stayed like that for a while, the two boys holding each other in the street, one weeping, the other comforting. It felt right, it felt natural, and they didn't want to let go of this love that overtook them.

The darkness was rapidly approaching, and Todoroki lifted up Midoriya's face, smiling at him. "You don't have to go out tonight, you can run away, come live with me, we can work this out, together." As much as Midoriya wanted to, he knew he couldn't leave the only family he had, although they might be horrible and evil. He couldn't leave them, he still had a goal he wanted to achieve, he admired Stain's morals, and intertwined some of them within his own.

Not all heroes are bad, some actually do justice, whereas others are in it for the fame and glory. Nevertheless, they're all bullies who only wish to defeat villainy, not restore peace.

Izuku sat up and looked away, closing his eyes and hugging his knees.
"I'm sorry, but I can't leave my family." Todoroki didn't answer, but Izuku could sense the hurt and pain in his voice.
"Very well, Izuku Midoriya." Izuku heard him leave, but he didn't watch him go, because it would hurt him too much.

He wiped away his tears. What was he doing? He couldn't let affections overrun him, he had a mission, his first mission, and then he could leave, travel with his father to places far, and wreak havoc there too. He was a killer, he needed to kill to make things right. That's how the world worked, unfortunately.
